A lifelong dog lover in Mtns Edge

Dogs have been a constant in my life since childhood. I raised my Chihuahua and Wheaten Terrier from the time they were four months old, and they each lived long, happy lives to 16. Losing them over the last two years was incredibly hard, but it also reminded me how much joy and purpose caring for dogs brings me. About 11 months ago, I was lucky enough to be united with Summer, whose mom came from a puppy mill rescue. Helping her grow into a confident, loved dog has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Experienced with all sizes, ages, and personalities Over the years, I’ve been the go‑to sitter for friends and family—especially for long-term care. Some of the dogs I’ve cared for include: My aunt’s 110‑lb German Shepherd/Lab/Chow mix while she was deployed in Afghanistan. Two black lab sisters I regularly boarded. My brother’s black lab, who lived with me throughout COVID and completely stole my heart. From tiny companions to big, strong breeds, I’m comfortable with them all. I understand how to read dog behavior, build trust, and create a calm, safe environment. I'm currently available for walks on Saturdays and Sundays up to 60 minutes per dog. I am available for boarding Friday night through Monday morning - perfect for your weekend trips. I don't work weekends, so I will be available to your pups full time during these windows.

Kristine provides excellent care for my senior Corgi and my energetic German Shepherd. They are always so excited to see her. She is reliable, attentive, and communicates clearly. She always goes the extra mile to make sure my dogs feel safe, comfortable and loved. Highly recommended for any of your pets needs.

I have known Kristine for about 7 years. Not only is she a wonderful person, but one of the best friends a fur baby could have. She is so caring and keeps my baby happy all the time and sends me updates throughout the time that he is with her. Her love for the dogs she takes care of is only surpassed by the love she has shown her own furry companions. So happy that she will now be able to assist others in their needs for their pets to take any worry from owner's minds knowing their precious ones will be well cared for. She will always be my favorite, and she will be yours too.

My Goldendoodle Marshall is not just 'our dog' he is family. Finding someone you trust to care for your pet aka family member, is something we take very seriously. We instantly knew when we met Kristine, that she is a true animal lover! We watched her interact with her precious dog Summer and you can tell that Summer is the happiest, most well cared little dog you have ever seen. She treats our Goldendoodle like he is her own as well. I don't trust a lot of people and I 100% trust Kristine with our baby. Marshall is completely at ease with her, and she doesn't just 'watch' Marshall...she genuinely cares for him. It's such a relief knowing he's in loving hands. If you’re looking for someone who treats your dog like family, Kristine is the one.

Kristine is the most reliable person I know. Whenever she has looked after my dog, I’ve never had a moment of worry. She is meticulous about following feeding schedules and specific instructions, and I always appreciate the photo updates she sends. She treats every dog with the utmost respect and safety-consciousness. If you’re looking for peace of mind while you’re away, Kristine is the perfect choice. Because Kristine is already a dedicated 'dog mom,' she understands the importance of routine, safety, and most importantly, play! Summer, her Goldendoodle is a fantastic host and gets along with everyone, making her home the perfect environment for a social pup who doesn't want to be lonely while their owner is away. Kristine is responsible, communicative, and truly treats every guest dog like a member of her own family. Your pup will be in the best possible hands!"

Kristine is the absolute best with your pet. When I got a Labrador rescue, she welcomed the new boy into her home and into her pack. Then for the next 5 years treated him like her own. You're in amazing hands when working with Kristine!

I am available for weekend walks and Fri night -Mon morning boarding to start. I work full time during the week and am planning to retire at some point in the next 5-10 years, so I'd love to start building a client base now for a little gravy income when I'm done working full time.

Safety, trust & environment

What you can expect - I treat every dog like they’re my own. Whether your pup is energetic, shy, senior, or somewhere in between, I meet them where they are. I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely love getting to know each dog’s unique personality. If you’re looking for someone who brings years of hands-on experience, a gentle approach, and a true love for dogs, I’d be honored to care for your pup. There will be daily walks and park visits if you preferred. Pets are permitted on the furniture and in bed, but if you prefer a more structured environment, I have crates of all sizes.

Pets

A typical day

I structure a typical housesitting day around the pet’s routine, starting with a morning potty break, walk, and breakfast, followed by some quiet bonding time. Midday usually includes mental‑stimulation games, a play session like fetch, and another walk or outdoor break. The afternoon is a mix of calm downtime with regular check‑ins and enrichment activities, then dinner on their usual schedule. In the evening, we wind down with a final walk, cuddles, or light play before settling into their normal bedtime routine, with plenty of affection and photo updates throughout the day.

I like to know each pet’s daily routine, including feeding times, walk schedules, and energy levels, as well as any behavior quirks such as anxiety triggers, reactivity, or special habits. It’s also helpful to understand how they interact with other dogs, cats, kids, or strangers, along with any medical needs, medications, allergies, or dietary restrictions. I ask about training cues, house rules, safety concerns like escape tendencies, and any comfort items or routines that help them feel secure so I can keep their day as smooth and familiar as possible.
