Pet care experience
Going out of town? Your dog will love our friendly Evanston home located near Lake Michigan beaches and forest preserves. We provide weekly adventures such as trips to the dog beach and pooch park, walks in the neighborhood, playtime in our fenced in backyard, and lots of love and attention. Why I love dog sitting I have had dogs in my family since I was born. I grew up in rural areas in the Midwest, and we always had at least one family dog of varying breeds. When I became an adult, I got a black lab puppy from my sister, who had rescued its mother while it was pregnant. I became very interested in dog training, reading any books I could get my hands on and applying their techniques. My lab, Asia, became the gentlest, most well-trained dog most people had ever met. We lost her at age 13; since then, we have always had a lab as a family pet and we have taken care of countless other breeds. About my yard We have a fenced back yard--it is a 6 foot fence around the perimeter with a 5 foot chain link fence between our yard and our friendly neighbor's yard. There is an open, grassy area where the dogs can roam freely, a concrete patio, and a vegetable garden that lines one side of the house between our yard and our neighbor's yard.

Excellent sitter. Extremely accommodating & easy to communicate with. Would definitely use again!
I took my dog there and another dog came that likes to play around. I’m sue he was in heaven because he loves to play with other dogs. I will use Kristin H again.
Friendly and communicative host. Clyde was well taken care of. It was great to get pictures of him with the other dogs. Kristen was accommodating with Clyde's prescription dog food and medicine.

Information Kristin H. would like to know about your pet
We need to know if our potential clients have good manners inside the house and out. Housebroken is a must; we also have to turn down clients who are destructive to property in the house, as we also have to live here. A dog who loves to play outside, go for walks and adventures, and to play with other dogs will have a great stay! We have a survey about temperament that we give our clients. We also ask questions about eating and elimination habits and the kinds of activities the dog enjoys.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks There is a park directly across the street from our house; dogs will be walked in addition to yard playtime. At least once during your pup's week long stay, we will take a field trip to the beach, a forest preserve, or Pooch Park. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Where is your dog used to sleeping? Bennie sleeps in the floor in my room or occasionally on the couch in the living room. He also has a dog bed he naps on frequently. And if your dog is used to sleeping in bed with you, she is welcome to jump onto our queen sized bed and snuggle the night through. Time I'll spend with your dog Rover used to be my full time job; now it's a family business. I teach elementary school in Niles, IL during the week, but I have a 22 year old son and a bonus daughter who live with me. I also have a helpful 13 year old. All 3 of my children greatly enjoy cuddling and playing with our clients.
