Four Paws Inn--A dog park experienc

My 3 teenage boys and I have been watching dogs on Rover for 8 years and enjoy making your pup happy and secure during your absence. I teach in Milwaukee so have breaks and summers free to play with doggie visitors all day, but we also watch dogs throughout the year. We have five acres with several huge fenced areas to run and play, and several rooms where your pet can securely lounge on the couch and watch TV all day. Rover dogs stay in the house itself, and will often stay in a room in the kennel when we are gone. Although we have boarding kennels here also, we are 99% cage free with our Rover dogs. Dogs are encouraged to socialize and to make friends during their stay with us. Meet and greets are welcomed and encouraged. We can also offer doggie daycare services during the summer months to protect your pet from the heat and over holidays. About this sitter: Hello. I am a public high school teacher in Milwaukee and a breeder of AKC registered purebred Siberian Huskies. I have been working with Rover in Milwaukee for more than six years and have enjoyed nearly every dog we have brought into our home. Looking towards retirement now, I realize I would rather play with dogs all day than deal with students for another 12+ years! So last year my three teenage sons and I moved to the country to open a pet boarding facility called "Four Paws Inn" as my early retirement project. We now have 5 acres surrounding our home with seven separate large fenced-in parks for dogs to run, chase balls, wander and play and with no neighbors to tell me my dogs are being too loud. LOL. It truly is a big dog's dream vacation place! Although we do have standard boarding kennels here, our Rover dogs are given free roaming rights in one of our family rooms throughout their stay and as much exercise and cuddle time as is possible. Why I love dog sitting I grew up with a little Poodle, but I wanted a big dog. I had my first big dog in college which instilled a love of Siberian Huskies and an appreciation of the larger breeds. I have been breeding Siberian Huskies for eight years now and have a very open, dog-friendly environment in my home and my life. Every dog has interesting personality traits or things they do that will always make me laugh so they are a true joy to be around. Taking them out to run is one of the best part of dog sitting...to let a big dog run and run and run and run (or wander, sniff, wander, sniff) until they give you that exhausted look that says...thanks, but I have had enough! And then they are my best friend forever as they fall fast asleep laying next to me on the couch, only to wake up soon after with a goofy grin that says they want to do it all over again. About my yard We now have seven fenced in grass yards with 7 foot chain link fencing around several which makes it very secure and allows dogs to play among dogs of their size and temperment. However, we still do not leave dogs unattended out in the yards or with other dogs we may be watching. Although a boarding kennel where we do board pets, we do live here and will not cage/kennel our Rover dogs except at the owner's request. My experience administering medication Yes. We have bribed many dogs to take their pills usually with peanut butter and we vaccinate our own puppies, so medications are not an issue for us.

5 stars as always!! Feel 100% confident leaving our 3 pups with Kristen! They love it there! Plenty of room to run around and have fun... And to tire them out! Great updates for my ease of mind! We have 2 active and 1 senior... And they all are comfortable there! So glad we found her. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

Kristin was amazing! My dogs came home tuckered out. They love being outdoors and getting to play and I could tell they were well taken care of. Thank you for taking such good care of my furbabies.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Large dogs do not need to be walked, rather they need to be set free to run. I can offer many hours of free exploration and exercise each day in one my large fenced in yards (depending on the weather).Smaller dogs will also be set free outside to roam and explore under a watchful eye and separated from the larger dogs. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Most dogs are left loose in the house and sleep in one of the bedrooms or with my boys on the couch playing video games. I only cage dogs at night if requested by the owner and he/she will not sleep alone as my boys and I enjoy camping out with the dogs. Time I'll spend with your dog I am a teacher so I have lots of time to spend hours exercising and playing with your dog, especially during the summer. I have three teenage boys who are also dog lovers so there will almost always be someone to play with your pet. We run our visitors at least twice a day in our fenced in yard and allow them to roam freely in the yard under supervision. When we do have to leave the house, we will put each dog into a separate room where he will be safe, warm and comfy.

Although I love bigger dogs, I do not take in Pit Bulls or Rottweilers given their history. I will kennel them, but not keep in my house. Before taking in a new client, I would like to know how that dog interacts with kids and other dogs and any history of aggressive behaviors. I would like to know his or her feeding and daily routines. I would like to know usual sleeping arrangements....on the bed, in a crate, on the couch, whatever you do we are able to accommodate your pet.
