If your pet could swipe right on a sitter, I’m pretty sure they’d pick me. I’ve been caring for animals since I was about 12, and honestly, it feels like I’ve had a leash or treat pouch in my hand ever since. From childhood pets to neighbors’ pups to friends’ cats who “don’t like anyone” (but somehow curl up in my lap), animals have always been part of my daily life. I’m new to Rover but not to caring for others pets. Your pet becomes “my” pet while you’re away. I currently volunteer with American Brittany Rescue and the AKC. I have volunteered with the Wake County Animal Shelter in years past. I have also owned and volunteered with 2 certified therapy dogs. We visited hospitals, nursing homes and schools. Our current dog is not a good candidate for therapy dog work, but we hope to participate with Therapy Dogs Inc. again in the future. Our dog and cat are both up to date on vaccines and take monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.
