Highly Reliable Rox Mom and Dog Mom
Hi from an intuitive Roxborough mom of a toddler and dog mom of 30+ years! I’ve had dogs my whole life and will care for your furry best friend(s) like they’re my own child. I used to board dogs in my NYC apartment back when Rover was called Dog Vacay, hence the reviews from a decade ago. Now that my kid is in preschool, we have a fenced yard and a sweet dog that plays well with others, I’m ready to start caring for dogs again. Now booking new clients for: —SOLO WALKS from 9am to 5pm within 19128 and very nearby. Weekend hours are much more flexible. I used to walk the biggest and most reactive Brooklyn shelter dogs, in addition to my own rescue pit bull who had a severe brain disorder and fear-based aggression. Once he lost all control of his limbs, I had no choice but to carry him up and down four flights of stairs. All to say: I feel well equipped to manage your pup, no matter their temperament or special needs. —IN-HOME DOGGIE DAYCARE *for one dog at a time* (in addition to my own super sweet Mini Aussie). Hours can be flexible once everyone knows each other and gets along. I work from home, have a fenced yard and can give them so much attention and playtime, even in the winter. I’d prefer a long-term arrangement with one regular client and would offer a discounted rate for that, but am open to drop-ins at $40/day. I’d require a complimentary meet and greet prior to booking. Our Freddie boy gets very stressed around a bunch of new dogs, so I assume perhaps other dogs do as well, hence my desire to have just one other dog here with him. He’s neutered and seems to really enjoy other dogs as long as it’s a 1:1 scenario. —OVERNIGHT BOARDING IN MY HOME. I’m open to requests for boarding your dog in our home, providing you trust them entirely around young children. Given that my child’s safety is my top priority, I’d always want to do a meet and greet before accepting the booking request. —WEEKEND-ONLY HOUSE SITTING AT YOUR PLACE. I can be there as early as 9am Saturday and can stay until 7pm Sunday. Worth noting that I have a car that could come in handy in the case of any emergency requiring a vet visit. I’m able to give oral medication. While I’ve never injected meds, I bet I could figure that out with a little guidance and practice. Can’t wait to meet you and your amazing dog!

Ratings and reviews
Kristin was wonderful with our dog! She has a large yard and an adorable dog who ours loved to play with. She sent tons of great pictures and brightened our day. Highly recommend!

Super kind, very trustworthy, and phenomenal care! I love going away knowing my baby is in good hands. The photo updates are amazing noteworthy too. I would book Kristin again without a doubt.

While I wish that I did not have to leave this review, I hope that my experience may guide others’ decisions prior to booking with Kristin. We had two meet and greets prior to a 7-day booking for my large dog. During both instances, we were transparent with Kristin regarding our dog’s history of food/resource guarding and plans to mitigate any issues with her dog. She reassured us that she felt confident managing these concerns as her own dog also exhibits food guarding tendencies. On the first day of our trip, I received a message from Kristin that our dogs had a “fight” related to guarding the feeding area. Based on her recounting of the event, it seemed as though both dogs growled, barked, and snapped at each other; however, there were no bites, and the dogs subsequently calmed down after separation. At first, Kristin seemed confident about a plan to reduce recurrence of such an event. As the day went on, she repeatedly mentioned concern over the fact that her child was upset by the incident and that her dog appeared nervous. I awoke the next morning to a message from Kristin saying that she could no longer watch my dog. Her concerns were understandable - her dog and child were still nervous, she was worried she would be unable to manage both dogs and her child, etc; however, I did not feel that they constituted grounds for terminating a paid service. She had reassured us at multiple times that she felt confident caring for our dog, and we had trusted her to manage any issues within reason. I know that dogs snapping at each other can be alarming, but I do feel that it is a behavior that someone committing to watching dogs should be able to manage. Additionally, I was not informed of any follow-up events that suggested ongoing tension between the dogs. While she did offer to help me find a new Rover, I did not feel comfortable with that option given that we had only met with her prior to our trip. Our family and friends had to go to great lengths to assist us since we were across the country. The biggest headache and greatest source of my frustration is that, in order to cancel the booking, Kristin had to report this “incident” to Rover. On top of finding new sitters for my dog, I have now had to spend a significant amount of time providing written statements and fielding Rover’s questions. It is disappointing that a poor match has led to such a great inconvenience. Kristin is very kind, and I believe that she means well, but I caution people with large or moderate to high maintenance dogs to ensure that she is fully equipped to care for your pet prior to booking.

Excellent experience, communication, and happy dog!

Kristin has been an absolute blessing for our family and our dog. From day one, she has been reliable, professional, caring, and genuinely invested in our dog's happiness and well-being. It's clear that Kristin truly loves animals. She takes the time to understand our dog's personality, needs, and routines. We always receive updates, and it's reassuring to know our pup is in such capable and caring hands. Kristin is consistently punctual, communicative, and dependable, which gives us tremendous peace of mind. Whether it's a regular walk or helping out when our schedule changes unexpectedly, she is always accommodating and goes above and beyond. The difference in our dog's happiness and confidence since working with Kristin has been remarkable. We wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and exceptional dog sitter. Five stars aren't enough!

SAFETY, TRUST & ENVIRONMENT: As mentioned above, our yard is fenced and I work from home, so am present and available for most of the day. Our Mini Aussie is neutered and always current on vaccinations. He’s a sweetheart, though I’d prefer to have a meet and greet prior to any new dog being introduced for a stay.
