Fun doggy camp in West Oakland

HIGHLIGHTS: - working from home - can only board dog-friendly dogs, I have Border Collie mix and I co-parent Frenchie mix. My absolute max is 5 dogs total (including my own) - pets in the bed and furniture are okay, I love to snuggle - I do not have a yard but live right across the gated off-leash dog area, and it's a must that your pupper can visit the park - Lower Bottoms Dogpark in Oakland - over 15 years of experience - 5 years via ROVER - new clients accepted but an person meet and greet is always required for new puppers I have been surrounded by pets and animals all my life, I grew up on a farm, the REAL farm: with cows, pigs, and chickens and we had so many cats and dogs. I have extensive experience taking care of different pure and mixed breeds of all ages and pets who need medication or/and have a medical condition. Dogs are allowed to roam freely in my bedroom and in the general living areas. My dream would be to have a small house in a secluded place surrounded by nature, with 20 or more rescue dogs and other animals :) If your dog has separation anxiety and it expresses by scratching doors/windows or destroying property, please provide a crate. If your dog is an excessive barker, please provide the bark collar. I will be taking care of your fur baby as they would be my own and keeping your pet loved and happy. Furbabies truly are my best companions and I absolutely love to be surrounded by them. I live on a second-floor unit in a residential area with about 15 steps. I do have roommates as well, who are totally okay with what I do. However, my roommates will never be expected to take care of the dogs. If I leave the house to run errands, 2-3 hrs at the time, I'll put them in my part of the house so they will be safe and sound.

Lana had a great time. And the true measure: was exhausted when she got home (so plenty of play and exercise). Thank you!

Great communication. And most importantly my dog is happy to go and happy when I pick him up. This is not always been the case with other sitters.

2nd time booking with Kristiina and of course we’re very happy again. This time we were away for our wedding for 3 weeks and she was really flexible with pick ups and drops off as well as really thoughtful about updating us on individual needs that arose for our two boys. Would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust their fur babies with.

Kristina took such good care of our border collie. It was the longest we have been away from her and Kristina sent us lots of pics and videos so we had complete piece of mind. We came home to a very happy pup and we would definitely hire Kristina again.

Schedule

I’m mostly home as I love to be around my puppers. Additionally I have a carsharing business, that can take me away from the house up to 2-3 hours, when I need to deliver a car to SFO.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I do live with roommates but I have separate part of the house with 2 rooms, so plenty of space for dogs and addition I do have my own dogs to keep your dog company as well. I do not have a yard but live right across big fenced dog area where I will be taking the dogs to get to run around and for potty breaks daily.

Pets

A typical day

I live right across a gated off leash dog area, and mostly take doggos out to the park for their exercise and socialization minimum 3 times a day, if not more. And my visits to the park last from 30 min over an hour. If the combo of the dogs that are in my care behave on leash and don't pull, I also do some neighborhood walks. I know it can be stressful to you and your pets for being left behind but rest assured your furbaby(ies) will be well taken care of.

Kristiina can host up to 3 pets per night
I'd love to set up a meet and greet to get to know your furbaby's quirks, daily routine, activity level, favorite toys, and medical history (if any). Normally, the meet and greet will take place in the Lower Bottoms dog park in Oakland near where I live, so it's a neutral ground for the puppers to meet and I can also see how your dog interacts with my and any other dogs. if all goes well, we will proceed to check out my place and see how the puppers act indoors. I highly reccommend adding all the care instructions and veterinary information to your Rover profile, so it's easy and quick way to get the information any time it's needed. Your dog must be up to date with vaccinations, on a flea and heartworm medication.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
