I care for pets by making their comfort, safety, and routine my top priorities—whether they’re staying in my home or I’m caring for them in theirs. I always take time to understand each pet’s specific needs, from feeding schedules and favorite toys to medications or special care instructions. When I’m in a client’s home, I make sure to respect their space, keep things clean, and stick closely to their pet’s usual routine to reduce any stress while they’re away. If a pet is staying with me, I create a calm, secure environment where they feel welcome and cared for like family. Every pet is different, so I always adjust my care based on their personality, energy level, and any instructions from the owner.

It’s really important for me to get a clear understanding of each pet’s personality and routine before caring for them. I like to know things like their feeding schedule, any medications or health concerns, how they do on walks or around other animals, and if they have any fears or triggers—like loud noises, strangers, etc. I also ask about their favorite toys, treats, and how they usually like to play or relax. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can keep them happy, safe, and comfortable while you’re away.
A typical day
For dogs I’ll take them on walks, fetch, tug-of-war, or exploring a nearby park. If they’re more low-energy, we might just hang out in the yard. For cats I’ll play with toys they like—like feather wands or laser pointers.

Kristian was great. They took excellent care of our dogs, fish and plants. I received multiple updates, including photos. I felt like my pets were in good hands the entire time I was away.
Kristian provides a wonderful stress free service. I came into Portland on business trip for a week and brought my little dog Hamish but had long hours during the day, and wasn’t able to take Hamish out. Kristian was able to accommodate my schedule and take my dog for multiple walks. He was punctual and my doggo was always excited to see him. I’ll definitely be using his services again in the future 10/10 recommend.

Kristian is amazing with my dog Zoey. All of our lives are so much better since he started walking her. She was going stir crazy while we worked, now she gets a nice outing with Kristian while she waits for us to return home. Zoey usually could care less about people. This is not the case with Kristian. She loves him!!! I would highly recommend Kristian for all your pet care needs.
