I have an online business teaching literature and creative writing, so I am around during the day and have a flexible schedule. I can adjust to easily to any pets' schedule and make sure they keep their routines!

I'm available for drop-in visits or walks for now. I could be available for housesitting as well, but only for owners and pets who would be open to having another dog -- my 26lb dog Violet -- in their home. (She has been on many housesits and does well with animals of all kinds. I make sure to ease them into the situation and spend time with each dog separately. Violet basically ignores cats, so we would be open to any dog-tolerating felines!) I always spend time letting pets acclimate and get to know me, approaching calmly and quietly. I am sensitive to their cues, especially at first. I have always worked hard at leaving a light footprint and am very aware of leaving things how I found them and honoring each person's space. And I love getting to know each pet's routines and preferences and fitting myself into that flow. I especially appreciate any written instructions to refer back to and will make sure I am carrying out each person's and animal's expectations. I also gladly send regular photos and updates as each client prefers and will promptly share any concerns or questions.

A typical day
On walks, I love giving dogs all the time they need to sniff around and explore. If they love having a ball thrown or playing tug, we'll do plenty of that! If they love snuggling on the couch, I'll make sure they get snuggles with their favorite blanket.

I am fairly new to Rover, but I have a lot of experience on TrustedHousesitters (can send reviews there upon request). I have done many housesits (with several repeat clients) over the years with dogs, cats, chickens, hamsters, rabbits, and more! For me, there is nothing better than getting to spend the day between online work sessions with animals. (I have a dog of my own, Violet, who is 6.) I try to connect with each animal under my care and make sure they are comfortable, attended to, and loved. I know how hard it is to leave my beloved pup in others' care, so I am very mindful of details and carefully follow all instructions. I have raised my own dog, Violet, from Day 1, so I am experienced with puppy care. I have also cared for several senior dogs and really love taking the extra time with them, whether a slower walk or attention to a medical conditions. I have administered medications to both dogs and cats.

Kristi was so warm and kind to our Mickey and our house was immaculate upon return. The photos and videos she sent daily were a huge reassurance that our furry family member was as loved as possible and happy.
