I am a stay-at-home mom and my husband primarily works from home so, your dog will have company all day. My dogs are house-trained and I bring them out every few hours. We also go for walks and spend time in the yard, weather permitting. If your dog is used to using puppy pads inside, this is no problem. We have lots of experience with older dogs needing to use those- and small dogs who don't want to go out in the rain :)

Safety, trust & environment

I have two small female dogs who would happily keep your dog company while you are away! We have a fenced-in yard and live in a beautiful neighborhood for taking walks. My dogs are medium energy, they like to run in the yard and go for walks as well as lounge on the couch. My dogs sleep in my bed and your dog would be welcome to do the same. If your dog is more comfortable having their own space, we can set them up on the couch for the night. We can, of course, use their crate if that is what they are used to. Since we have a one-year-old human and two senior dogs, we can only watch dogs who are friendly with children and other dogs and who do not have food aggression. I’m offering dog day care with older dogs, dogs who need medication during the day or pups who just need company in mind. I also know how hard it is when you have a dog at the hospice care stage of their life. If you are going through that, let me take care of them for the day for you.

Information Kristen & Timothy L. would like to know about your pet

Let me know about any special needs your dog has and any concerns you have- I want to make sure both of you are comfortable! If your dog has any favorite treats or activities definitely tell me about them. I also want to know if your dog is afraid of anything like thunderstorms or has separation anxiety. I have experience with flight risk dogs, if you suspect your dog might be a flight risk - let me know so I can take extra precautions. Since we have two older dogs and a toddler, we cannot watch any dogs who have resource guarding or food aggression. Please share with me the name of your vet and an emergency contact, just incase. We do accept dogs from different families at the same time, if you would prefer that we only watch your dog (or dogs) just let me know! Your dog must also be comfortable around other dogs and children. I am looking forward to getting to know your dog! Please ask any questions you have!

A typical day

Your dog will enjoy playing in our fenced-in yard, going for walks and, if weather allows, visiting our neighborhood beach. More of a couch potato? No problem! We will cater activities to your dog's interest. My husband and I are home most, if not all, of the day. If we do go out, we can separate your dog from ours until we are sure they are comfortable together. We want to make sure that all interactions between the dogs are positive. To keep interactions between our toddler and the dogs positive, if we are not directly supervising him, he will be in his gated off play area or his room (also with a gate). He adores dogs but, we don't allow him to harass them (your dog will not be grabbed or pinched by our toddler).

Experience with Seniors & Med needs

Pet care experience

I adopted my first senior dog when I was ten and have since adopted many seniors, often with complex medical histories. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, including young puppies. If your dog requires daily medication or other special care, I can absolutely do that. My husband and I love dogs and are pros at making nervous dogs comfortable. If you are thinking your dog is too quirky to stay with a sitter, we are probably the right fit!
