Hello Friends! My name is Kristen, and caring for animals is truly my heart’s calling. I grew up in a home that rescued puppy mill dogs, so I’ve always shared life with at least three furry siblings at a time! Today, I live in a high-rise in Little Italy with my sweet 4-year-old tabby cat, Penny Lane. The building is pet-friendly and even includes a convenient doggie lawn/washing station for any pups that stay in my home. After the unexpected loss of my partner last year, I left my career in Tech and am in grad school for my master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy - with a specialization in Grief and Loss. I’m also pursuing certification in Animal-Assisted Therapy and plan to adopt a rescue pup who will one day join me in supporting others. In the meantime, I volunteer with several animal rescue organizations and dream of opening a sanctuary of my own. I specialize in pittie/bully breed dogs and also have extensive experience with senior and special-needs pets. I’m comfortable administering medications like insulin and eye drops—even for squirmy little ones—and caring for dogs with mobility issues. One of my parents’ pups was born without back legs, so I’m familiar with wheelchairs, diapers, and plenty of cuddles. I treat every animal like family and would be honored to care for yours as if they were my own.

Kristen was amazing to watch after our pup. She was extremely easy to communicate with and was able to accommodate Finn despite him not being around cats before. Would definitely recommend her for others and book her again if we’re ever in San Diego again!

My little shy guy thrived with Kristen! He’s usually pretty reserved but he was already playing and having a blast on the first day. Kristen was great about sharing updates and communicating. She treated my pup with empathy and care. We hope to be back!
Kristen was amazing with my cat. She and her cat Penny made him feel very at home! I was able to enjoy my vacation and put full trust in her. She’s an amazing, warm person. If I ever need someone to watch him, I would 100% let Amory stay again with her!

I have a flexible schedule because I'm currently in grad school, taking virtual classes to complete my master's in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I would love to help take care of your pet and I promise I will treat them as if they were my own child. I’m happy to provide walks, baths, medication, snuggles and everything else that comes with caring for your fur baby! I am very organized, punctual and clean. I will be respectful and protective of your home and your privacy whenever on your property - happy to water plants or grab mail if needed as well :)
A typical day
If your pup (or adventurous leash-trained cat) likes being outside, I would love to take them to a nearby park for some fresh air! I will absolutely discuss with you if dog parks are fun (or scary) for your pet and will not take them, unless I have your approval.
