I’m a dog lover with one very sweet pup, Goose. I recently lost my beloved pittie, DJ, and while I’m not ready to bring a second dog into my family full-time just yet, I do miss having a second set of paws in the house. That’s why I started Rover. It felt like a beautiful way to share my home, help another family, and bring some joy back into my daily routine. I work from home, so your dog will have constant company, plenty of attention, and a peaceful, structured environment. Goose and I do two walks a day (morning and evening, when it’s not too hot!) around the quiet pond in my neighborhood. I have a spacious house with lots of room to play, sunbathe, and snooze. And yes, the dogs are absolutely allowed on the couch, the bed, and pretty much wherever they feel comfy. My backyard isn’t fully fenced, but I use long 20-foot staked leashes so the dogs can safely run, lounge, and soak up the sun while I hang out with them outside. What sets me apart? I really love dogs. Like, more than most humans. I treat every dog like my own, with gentleness, attention, and a deep respect for their routines, quirks, and needs. Goose is the ultimate host: calm, kind, and respectful with every pup he meets. Whether your dog needs space, playtime, meds, or just someone to sit with them while they nap, I’m here for it!

It’s almost otherworldly and I truly believe she can sense the needs and the spirit of an animal Although it's always difficult to leave our dog, we have some piece of mind knowing that Bernie is in Kristen's very capable hands. She is by far our first choice when we need a dog sitter.

Schedule
Pet care is part of my everyday routine. I work from home, so your pup will have constant company, whether they want to play, nap nearby, or just follow me around like the world’s cutest coworker. Goose and I do two walks a day (morning and evening) around the pond in my neighborhood. During the day, I hang outside with the dogs for short breaks using 20-foot staked leashes so they can safely sniff, sunbathe, and stretch their legs. Inside, my home is peaceful, spacious, and fully dog-friendly. Couches, beds, and sunny windows are all fair game. I don’t use a crate by default, but if that’s part of your dog’s routine, I’m happy to include it — just bring theirs along. Your pup will be treated like one of my own. Loved, safe, and never left alone for long.

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I only host one dog at a time (or one family of dogs), so your pup will never be overwhelmed or competing for attention. If it’s your first time booking with me, I like to schedule a quick meet-and-greet to make sure your dog and Goose get along. He’s incredibly sweet and respectful, but I want everyone to feel safe and comfortable before a stay. I supervise all outdoor time. My yard isn’t fenced, but I use 20-foot staked leashes so the dogs can safely lounge and sniff while I’m outside with them. Inside, it’s a calm, cozy, dog-friendly home. Couches, beds, and sunny spots are all fair game. I’ll keep your pup’s routine consistent: feeding schedules, crate time (if needed, just bring yours), and any medication they need. Whatever they’re used to, I’ll stick to it. You’ll get regular updates and plenty of cute photos, and your dog will be treated like one of my own.

A typical day
I start the day with snuggles and a walk around the pond with Goose. Then it’s breakfast and some backyard time. Sunbathing is highly encouraged. If it’s raining, we hang in the garage and watch the storm. It’s a whole vibe. The rest of the day is a mix of fetch, tug, naps in sunny spots, snack breaks, and the occasional showtune. Yes, I sing. No, I’m not good at it. But the dogs seem to love it. There are plenty of treats (with your approval), lots of praise, and even a movie night if they’re into it. Goose is the ultimate chill buddy, and I’m always around to supervise, play, and keep your dog feeling safe, happy, and loved.
