I am currently doing Rover full time, so I will have plenty of time for your pets needs and for playtime, and am able to make sure that bathroom breaks and meal/snack times are not spaced too far apart :) For house sitting I cannot stay full time around the clock as I often have doctors appointments I need to attend, so I may have to come and go, but I would not be gone for longer than 3-4 hours at any given time, so if your fur baby can be alone for 3-4 hours, then I can accommodate for that 😊

I make sure to closely follow any given instructions for pet care, including instructions for a special diet or medications, and if the pet needs any special needs care or aid with grooming! I like to go over the details with clients of how their pet may like to play, how they get along with other animals/people, how they like to be pet, how they do on walks, what their favorite snacks are, and of course any special needs such as oral medications, special dietary needs, etc… to make sure that I am offering the highest quality of care and comfortability for their fur baby! I also make sure to pay close attention to timing between meals, snacks and potty breaks so their pets don’t become uncomfortable or have any accidents. Lastly, I make sure to give lots of love and attention to their pet so they don’t feel lonely!

Let me know if your pet has any special needs or behaviors that I need to be aware of ahead of time so I can accommodate my care for them and make sure they are comfortable and safe! Please also let me know if they require any daily oral medications or dietary supplements, and what the preferred method of giving those is for your pet. Let me know if your pet has a history of any aggressive behavior towards sitters such as severe biting, as I am NOT a professional dog trainer and cannot work with high aggression dogs. Please let me know where things around the house are that I will need in order to care for your pet, such as bowls, food, medications, water, leashes etc… Please let me know if your pet has any off limits areas for where they like to be pet, and how they like to be approached by a new person so I can make them comfortable when meeting for the first time!
A typical day
I love to give the pets in my care lots of love and attention (based carefully on how much attention they personally enjoy) so that they feel comfortable and cared for while their pet parents are away! If a dog or cat in my care enjoys playing outside or taking walks and it is safe to do so, I will check in with the owner on what their favorite toys to play with are, what areas are best to take them for walks/to play at, and how much activity they prefer daily based upon their energy levels. When I take dogs on walks I like to always walk them over to the other side of the street when another dog comes by to avoid any stress or aggression. Overall I aim to keep my clients’ pets entertained, comfortable, loved and well cared for while they await their owners’ return!

Hey there! I’m Kristen. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was in elementary school! I have experience taking care of and owning small and large dog breeds, cats, and even farm animals like goats, pigs, turkeys and cows! I also worked at a local public alpaca farm, Majestic Meadows, and provided love, care and husbandry for a variety of exotic and farm animals, including horses, donkeys, alpacas, llamas, and more! I have experience working with animals who have special dietary needs, special medication needs, senior pets, and pets who have physical disabilities and need extra care and aid! I can brush your pet, clean their ears and teeth (if they will let me and it is safe to do so), and give them a simple bath if you would like! Lastly I do have experience in basic behavior training for dogs, including click/reward training to teach sitting, lay down, and release, however I am NOT a professional dog trainer and am not willing to sit for dogs that experience highly aggressive behaviors or biting towards new people.

Kristen has done pet sitting for my two golden retrievers and my fiancé’s brother’s German shepherd, & 2 cats. She was wonderful with them all. Very loving, played with them, walked the dogs. We left feeding and medication instructions that were perfectly followed. Also same with families pets. Kristen also has house sit while taking care of the pets when the family was out of town. She kept things clean and tidy as well as taking care of the pets. She loves animals which you can see immediately. I definitely recommend her!
