Just like teaching children (which I did for a long time), knowing any context or special needs of the pets is really helpful and important. That way my care can be tailored to meet their specific needs.
A typical day
How I care for dogs and cats depends on the needs of the pet. I have experience with high-energy dogs, and understand that they need walks with the opportunity to sniff, maybe a hike or a short run if desired - and I can do all of those things. Senior dogs may need a little less-active attention, and I can play with them in a modified manner. For cats, some may want lots of cuddles and interaction, and some may prefer a little less attention. I take notes from the humans as to what they want to make their pets are well-cared for!

Pet care experience
I grew up with cats and have had dogs as long as I can remember. I've raised 5 dogs of my own from puppy-hood, and currently have 2 rescues. I'd love to walk, hike and love on your pets!

I can't say enough good things about Kristen. She's always prompt, and seems to enjoy visiting my dog. He is very happy when I return home, so I know he's had a good time. Kristen keeps plugging away, trying to increase the length of walks for my reluctant walker. And I really appreciate her quick response when I try to book her...not all the Rover people are good about that.
Kristen is among the top 2 dog walkers I've ever had, and I've had quite a few over the past 31 dog-years. My dog really loves her, and gets excited when I mention her name. She is patient with his reluctance to go on walks, and has made much improvement over the past few months. She is very dependable, and obviously cares a lot about dogs.
