I am a full time stay at home mom to a 3.5 year old as well as 1 year old male (neutered) dog. We do not leave him home alone for more than three hours, so your dog would have human companionship and access to the outdoors at almost all times! Our dog is no longer using one, so we have a large crate that your dog is welcome to use if that is what they are accustomed to or have any destructive tendencies when left alone.

Safety, trust & environment
Our dog gets lot's of love and exercise. We make sure he practices good manners with daily basic training and keep him happy with enrichment activities, walks, and plenty of scratches. We never leave him outside unattended and he is ALWAYS leashed if outside of the backyard fence. I have had three dogs as an adult, and none have ever escaped.
Information Krista & Jonathan R. would like to know about your pet
Don't get me wrong, I love all dogs! However due to our circumstances, any pup we bring into our home absolutely MUST be dog and little-kid friendly with no major behavioral issues (furniture chewing/food or toy aggression mainly). One of our fences is a shorter fence (about 4 feet), and while our dogs have never jumped it, an escape artist would clear it in an instant- so a tie out would be necessary for jumpers. Our 11 month old puppy is very dog friendly and attends daycare semi-regularly so he is often socialized with other dogs and people. Our daughter has been raised with the mindset to respect animals and their personal space.
A typical day
Our dog's day starts with an early morning sniff-walk around the neighborhood before my husband leaves for work, followed by a day of sunbathing in our large fully fenced (and half shaded) backyard. For fun, you can find us playing in the shallow doggy pool, chasing bubbles, running through dog tunnels, and more! To wind down, we like to take the paw-ty inside for a snooze on the couch with cuddles and cool air. I am happy to accommodate for different needs, so please let me know if there is anything I can do or prepare to make your pet's stay more comfortable! For longer stays, your pup might take a trip to a local Metropark for a trail walk or (with permission) go on a chicken nugget run. In any case, you can be certain your care plan will be followed and respected, as well as trust that I will help reinforce your dog's basic obedience training.

Pet care experience
No such thing as a dog too big! Growing up with several dogs in my family home, I truly view them as a part of our families. With a belief in positive reinforcement and redirection, your dog will have a fun, stress-free time; making our home their home for the duration of their stay. Having gone through the puppy stage several times, including within the past year, I can assure you our patience is tried and tested, and that I carry an attitude in which it is imperative to maintain respect for the individual temperament of each dog. Some breeds I have experience with include: pitbulls, labs, dobermans, cane corsos, boxers, and mastiffs. I have trained my dogs in basic obedience, all with varying degrees of energy level, stubbornness, and intelligence 🙃. While size does not matter, all dogs who enter our home must be child and dog friendly. **To ensure the safety and comfort of everyone involved, meet and greets are mandatory without exception before boarding or daycare. This can take place at a dog-friendly park, or our backyard if you would like to see our home.** *Smoke and alcohol free home *Large fenced backyard *Almost always home
Reviews

Krista and Jonathan took great care of our puppy Korra! We were thankful to find someone that could handle her puppy energy and had their dog Finn that was super friendly and could play with her. They were great at communicating and updating with photos and videos. Can’t thank them enough for being flexible when our travel plans got delayed. Highly recommend and will book again!
I’ve known Krista for a better part of two decades. Krista has grown up around dogs and cats all her life. She is knowledgable about animal behavior, nutrition, and exercise. She has shown nothing but a caring, holistic, and empathetic approach to any animal which she has been responsible for. I would recommend Krista as a care taker for any family’s dog or cat any day.
Krista has shown incredible dedication, responsibility, and genuine affection for my dogs. They have always been punctual, reliable, and extremely attentive to my pet's needs. Whether it was feeding, walking, or playtime, Krista went above and beyond to ensure that my pet was happy and well-cared for. One of the things that impressed me most about Krista was their ability to handle unexpected situations with calm and professionalism. On one occasion, my dog Dolly cut her paw pad while playing in the yard, and Krista responded quickly and effectively, ensuring my pet's safety and well-being. Krista communicated regularly with me during my time away, providing updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind knowing my pet was in good hands. I wholeheartedly recommend Krista to anyone in need of a dependable and compassionate pet sitter. Their dedication and love for animals make them an invaluable resource for any pet owner.
