Safety, trust & environment

For pet sitting services, I will follow the specific care instructions provided by the pet owner. This may include feeding, watering, providing exercise and playtime, administering medications, and cleaning up any messes. It is also important to pay attention to the pet's behavior and report any concerns to the owner. For dog walking services, I will need to ensure that the dog is properly secured on a leash and that I follow all local laws and regulations regarding dog walking. I should also be aware of the dog's behavior and be prepared to handle any potential issues that may arise. Regardless of the service I offer, it is important to always prioritize the safety and well-being of the pets in my care. This includes staying attentive and being prepared to handle any emergencies that may arise.

Schedule

Pet care fits into my daily routine in a few different ways. First and foremost, I make sure to set aside time each day to feed and water my pets. This usually happens in the morning and evening, when I also spend some time playing with and interacting with them. In addition to these daily tasks, I also make sure to set aside time each week for more in-depth pet care activities. This might include grooming, medical appointments, etc. Overall, pet care is an important part of my daily and weekly routine, and I make sure to prioritize it alongside my other responsibilities.

When it comes to dog or cat sitting, there are several important pieces of information to know about the pet ahead of time. Here are some key details I consider: For Dogs: 1. Feeding and dietary needs: It is crucial to know the dog's regular feeding schedule, any specific dietary requirements, and if they have any food allergies or restrictions. 2. Exercise and activity level: Understanding the dog's exercise needs and energy level is important to ensure they receive adequate physical and mental stimulation. This includes knowing how often and for how long they should be walked or engaged in playtime. 3. Behavior and temperament: Learning about the dog's behavior and temperament can help you anticipate their reactions in different situations. Important factors to consider include their sociability with other animals, any fear or anxiety triggers, and how they typically behave around strangers or children. 4. Medical history and current health: Being aware of any medical conditions, allergies, or medications the dog requires is essential for their well-being. It is also important to have contact information for their regular veterinarian in case of emergencies. 5. Training and commands: Understanding the dog's level of training, the commands they are familiar with, and any ongoing training needs is important for consistency and effective communication during the pet-sitting period. For Cats: 1. Feeding and dietary needs: Knowing the cat's feeding schedule, specific dietary requirements, and if they have any food allergies or restrictions is crucial for their health and well-being. 2. Litter box habits: Understanding the cat's litter box preferences, including the type of litter they are used to and their usual litter box routine, ensures a clean and comfortable environment for them. 3. Behavior and temperament: Learning about the cat's behavior and temperament helps you provide a stress-free environment. Important details include their sociability with other animals, their comfort level with strangers, and any specific triggers that may cause anxiety or aggression. 4. Medical history and current health: Being aware of any medical conditions, allergies, or medications the cat requires is important for their care. Additionally, having contact information for their regular veterinarian is essential in case of emergencies. 5. Enrichment and playtime: Understanding the cat's play preferences and providing appropriate toys or activities helps to keep them mentally stimulated and entertained during your time as a sitter. By gathering this information ahead of time, I can ensure that I am well-prepared to provide the best possible care for the dog or cat, based on their individual needs and personality.
