I've not only taken care of dogs and cats, but I have also taken care of more exotic pets, too. At different times, I've had rats, mice, dwarf hamsters, short tailed opossums, fish, leopard geckos, dogs, two kittens that showed up on my porch with their mom, a rabbit and ducks. (Although technically the rabbit is my daughter's pet. You know how that goes.) Along the way I've learned skills like post-surgical care for spayed/neutered animals, successfully rearing day old poultry to adulthood, providing nutrition via syringe for a lizard, and carefully trimming a dog's nails. I am available to take care of your precious pets from sunrise to sunset. If your little buddy needs help during the night because of special needs, however, I am willing to extend those hours a bit. I believe that the less disruption to an animal while the owner is gone results in the best situation for everyone. That's why I take care of animals in their own home. Being away from you is stressful enough. Having to find new places to nap or hide just adds to the stress. I will ask detailed questions about the animal's care - not just where to find the food and/or a litter box, but what kind of interaction he or she prefers so I can provide that. If there are any special needs for you and your pet, I want to be sure that they are met. In order to provide extra reassurance to my clients, I carry pet sitter insurance through PCI. I can provide the policy for you to review upon request. (I know that Rover offers some coverage for all sitters, but this is in *addition* to that.) Picking up the mail and/or watering houseplants are other services I can provide upon request.
