Living in an apartment complex, there is a small dog park area a short walking distance. Our dogs don’t enjoy that type of environment, so we don’t visit it, but we do have access to a walking trail so in the warmer weather we’ll frequent that for exercise with the dogs. When watching other folks’ dogs I usually avoid/limit the visiting dog’s interaction with other dogs for safety purposes. Our dogs are welcoming of other dogs, being older they take the coexisting approach and with time they’ll form their own little pack. My partner and I have both had dogs all our lives, so we know all dogs are different and have their own personalities and needs, which may vary in new situations/environments.
