Pet care experience
Your dog's future best friend.
I've been taking care of animals for friends and families for years now. Its gotten to the point that I am the go-to whenever an animal needs company! I believe one of the main reasons why I am good at animal-minding is patience. Animals require a lot of attention at times and for a lot of people it can be quite draining or time-consuming, and being a self-employed artist, I've got a lot more available time than most. I am quite reserved so I have always got on better with animals than a lot of people I interact with so its always felt very easy and natural. I'm used to all kinds of dogs and cats, size, breed, attitudes, none have ever been an issue, even the older ones, who can be rather stubborn Overall, animals are great and taking care of them is a pleasure.

Ratings and reviews
I am very happy to recommend Korel as a dog sitter: he has looked after our house and dogs on several occasions when we’ve been away on holiday. He is responsible and diligent and loves dogs - they are always very happy when we get back. He has plenty of initiative and he always keeps in touch - we feel we can really relax about house and home when he is looking after things.
Mr Walley has been looking after my dogs for over five years. Korel goes above and beyond when it comes to looking after our families dogs, and loves them as if they were his own. We have two black labs (and a tabby cat!). His attentiveness and utter respect for them shines through, my children and I joke that they love him more than they love us! As we live in the middle of a city, it can be challenging walking them as they get so distracted by the hectic-ness around them. However, Korel is expert at keeping them calm and at his side. At home, his naturally playful demeanour is lovey for the dogs as they often can get bored. I’d recommend Korel to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving companion for their dogs.
Korel is a good friend to me and my dogs. I have 3 shih tzus one of whom is very elderly, so not the easiest of pet sitting gigs, and Korel has made me extremely comfortable and safe leaving them in his care. Korel is a fan of the outdoors so the dogs got plenty of exercise and lots of cuddles. You can rely on Korel to be conscientious and friendly. I am more than happy to recommend him to everyone.
Korel is an old and trusted family friend. He was at primary and secondary school with our son. We have always appreciated his friendly, responsible, caring personality. Since leaving school, Korel has stayed at our house on many occasions for over two weeks at a time. During these periods he has taken sole responsibility for our 2 cats and frequently our dogs as well. The animals all love him. Our rescue dachshund is particularly keen on him which says a lot as she has trouble trusting people, especially men. Korel shows great kindness and interest in the dogs. One time our dachshund accidentally came into contact with an electric fence and ran away in fright. Korel and I both tried to find her, Korel spending 2 hours in pouring rain searching the woods behind our house. While she turned out to be hiding in the house, by doing this Korel demonstrated his dedication to her wellbeing. I cannot think of a better dog walker and minder so can recommend him highly.

Schedule
Pet care fits very naturally into my routine. I work Monday to Thursday, and I’m fully available for pet sitting and care on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays. I live in a quiet cottage on the outskirts of a small, picturesque village, with woodland and heathland directly behind the house, as well as a nearby common and orchard, which is all perfect for long, varied dog walks with plenty of space to explore. The cottage has a secure, fully enclosed back garden where dogs can safely roam and relax. Dogs are welcome inside the house and on the furniture, and pets are treated as part of the home rather than kept separate. For cats, there is a cat flap, so cats who are comfortable coming and going can do so freely. I’m very happy to accommodate both dogs and cats and provide a calm, relaxed, and attentive environment while you’re away.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I care for pets as individuals and always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including routines, feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any medical or behavioural requirements. Safety and consistency are my top priorities. In my home, pets are supervised, kept in a calm and secure environment, and never left unattended in unsafe situations. My garden is fully enclosed, and walks are tailored to each dog’s energy level and recall ability. I avoid overcrowding and make sure pets have space to rest and feel settled. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I’m respectful, reliable, and mindful of maintaining the pet’s normal routine and surroundings to minimise stress. I keep homes clean and secure and provide regular updates for peace of mind. I take trust seriously, both with animals and with people’s homes, and aim to create a safe, relaxed, and attentive environment wherever I’m caring for pets.
A typical day
A typical day is shaped around the individual pet’s needs, energy level, and personality. Dogs enjoy regular walks straight from the house into nearby woodland, heathland, the village common, and the orchard, offering plenty of variety, space, and interesting smells. I’m also happy to drive dogs to different walking spots for a change of scenery. For dogs who enjoy socialising, there’s a nearby canal walk where they can encounter other dogs in a controlled way. For more nervous or reactive dogs, I choose quieter routes and calm environments so they can feel safe and relaxed. At home, there’s plenty of supervised play in the enclosed garden, along with downtime indoors in a cosy, calm setting. In cooler months, pets often settle by the wood burner, and the house is very relaxed and home-like rather than busy or noisy. I balance activity with rest, making sure pets aren’t overstimulated, and I’m attentive to their cues throughout the day. I also play gentle music at home, including guitar or piano, which many animals find soothing. Above all, I aim to create a day that feels familiar, enriching, and stress-free, whether that means plenty of adventure or a slower, quieter pace.
