It’s important to let me know your pet’s daily routine (feeding times, walk schedule, medication) to reduce anxiety while you are away. You should let me know of behavioral quirks, like fear of thunder, aggression towards other animals/people, or separation anxiety. Please give detailed information about health issues, allergies, and the veterinarian's contact info. Also, specify house rules, including if the pet is allowed on furniture, where they sleep, and if they are an escape risk. Finally, please ensure that I know where to find supplies and who to contact in an emergency.

When pet sitting, I make sure pets are both physically active and mentally stimulated through fun activities. For dogs, I enjoy taking long walks in new, exciting places to allow for plenty of sniffing, along with games of fetch and tug-of-war. I also play scent-based games like hiding treats for them to find, and practicing obedience training for rewards. For cats, I can give interactive wand toy play, use laser pointers, and/or whatever they like. My cat was never truly interested in toys or laser pointers, my dog as well, but he enjoys laser pointer then any other cat I have ever met. Finally, I always ensure there is quality cuddle time, brushing, and gentle petting to help them relax and feel comfortable while their owners are away.
