I am self-employed so can set my schedule, especially with as much advance notice as possible. I often bring my little 9 pound, Shih Tzu, which I keep and a carry crate and kennel that has worked out fine with both dogs and cats. We can arrange a meet and greet ahead of time to make sure everyone is comfortable.

Just that they are amenable to having a new person in the home especially when the owner is away. I prefer lap dogs under 20 pounds. Shih tzus are my favorite!
A typical day
We stop and smell along the way - flowers, plants, trees... whatever the dog enjoys at his/her pace. I also play fetch and lots of running around activities involving play toys and squeaky toys.

Pet care experience
I have 25 years of experience as a pet sitter being self-dubbed the "overnight queen" as I specialize in overnight stays of any length. The dogs and I have FUN slumber parties during which I fully engage with and interact with them, playing with their toys and giving the most excellent tummy rubs imaginable! Owners are happy too as they return to a happy pet - dogs "tell" by their behavior and in over 500 pet sits, every dog has been safe, sound ... and happy! In fact, many owners say I did a great job because "my dog acted like it didn't even know I was away!" All dogs love me ... and I love them. Dogs are people, too - only better !

Kit was very caring and took care of Bruiser. I wish her place was a little cleaner, but it is probably from taking care of so many dogs.
If I could give Kit 10 stars I would! She was a godsend to all of my pets. She helped me manage four different animals while I was away. She was professional, prompt, a great communicator and I greatly appreciate all her help. Highly recommend and will definitely be using again!
