Pet care experience

Experienced pet & house sitter

I am a full time house-sitter currently moving around the UK with my partner Paul and our female working cocker spaniel Button (she’s 12). If you book me through here it will just be me providing the service, I will not bring my own dog or any other dogs. I will be in Fordingbridge, Hampshire until end of August 2026 and will have availability for local house-sitting, dog-walking and house visits. I have been full time house-sitting for the past 2 years and intermittently before that. I have looked after dogs of all sizes and breeds, cats, chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, fish and a turtle! I’m also very comfortable with rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or gerbils. My parents owned a pet shop when I was a child so I’ve been around animals my whole life.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I treat your pets as if they are my own. I know that pets are family members and I treat them in that way. I will continue any routines, training and dietary requirements you have. I’m very happy for dogs to sleep in crates or on the bed with me if that is their usual routine. I’m very reliable and tidy. Reviews from other pet-sitting sites have all commented on how clean I leave their homes and how happy and settled their pets are when they return. Everyone I’ve sat for in the past 2 years has asked me back to care for their pets.

So grateful Kirsty was free to help with Lucas. My lovely Greyhound. I know I can trust Kirsty wholeheartedly and Lucas adores her. Will definitely book again. Thank you so much for the care and attention xx

Can not praise Kirsty highly enough. Kept me informed with lots of photos and messages. Lucas showed no signs of anxiety on my return. Totally happy and healthy. I would engage Kirsty a 100 times over!

Kirsty was great with communication and very patient with Bruce as he was feeling quite amorous and tried giving her lots of leg cuddles!

Kirsty was great, so sweet with Rosie, lots of updates, very punctual, and reliable. She came to our hotel room to sit with our dog whilst we went out for dinner, and we were so grateful! Thanks Kirsty!!

House Sitting • May 11, 2025

Kirsty was lovely and great at reassuring my dog Humphrey who gets quite anxious when I leave him. I felt completely confident leaving Humphrey and my house in Kirsty’s hands. She will be my first port of call for future house sitting needs when I travel.

It’s helpful to know their routine so that I can stick to what they know: what they eat, how much, what timings and how much exercise they are used to. Any typical habits or mannerisms that could seem worrying to someone new but that are normal for your pet. Equally anything that you know is a sure sign something is wrong for them specifically. Any injuries or medications need to be clear and instructions on what they need. Anything you tell me I will do it. I will then use my experience and common sense for most things and if I am even remotely unsure I will contact you before doing anything.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
