I work from home full-time, so I’m around throughout the day for company, walks, playtime and regular garden breaks. My schedule is flexible, which means I can easily fit around your dog’s usual routine and give them plenty of attention during their stay.

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog’s safety and comfort are really important to me. I’ve got a large secure garden, a dog-friendly home, and a calm senior dog Freddie who’s used to having other dogs around. I’ll take the time to get to know your dog’s routine and what they need so they can settle in and feel right at home. Whether they love lots of walks, playtime, sofa cuddles, or just a quiet spot to relax, I’ll make sure they’re happy and well looked after during their stay.

Information Kirsty J. would like to know about your pet
Before booking, I’d love to know about your dog’s routine, personality, likes and dislikes, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and settled. Please let me know about any medical conditions, medications, allergies, dietary requirements, fears, behavioural quirks or training needs. The more I know about your dog, the better I can tailor their stay and make sure they feel safe, happy and at home with me.
A typical day
A typical day will be tailored to your dog’s age, personality and energy levels. Alongside walks and playtime, I like to include plenty of mental stimulation and enrichment to keep dogs happy and engaged. Having an energetic large breed dog myself, I know that exercise alone isn’t always enough! We regularly enjoy games such as hide and seek with toys or treats, scent work, puzzle toys, snuffle mats, lick mats and enrichment activities that encourage natural behaviours like sniffing, searching and problem solving. Between adventures, playtime and plenty of time to relax, your dog will enjoy a fun, balanced day that keeps both body and mind active.

Pet care experience
Having grown up with dogs and being a dog mum myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your dog when you’re away. I offer a safe, relaxed and loving home-from-home where your dog can feel comfortable, happy and part of the family. Dogs are a big part of my life, and because I work from home I’m able to spend lots of time with them throughout the day. I have a large, private and secure garden, along with plenty of time for walks, playtime and enrichment games. When it comes to relaxing, dogs are more than welcome on the furniture if that’s what they’re used to at home! I live with my senior Labrador cross, Freddie, who is used to having other dogs around and is always happy to make new friends. Through training Freddie and attending classes with him, I’ve developed a good understanding of dog behaviour and enrichment, and learned that mental stimulation and companionship are just as important as walks and exercise. I also have a cat, Blaze, who generally keeps himself to himself and spends much of his time outdoors. If your dog isn’t a fan of cats, Blaze can easily be kept separate. One of the things I love about living in Penarth is having some fantastic walks right on the doorstep, including Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, nearby beaches and local woodland walks. Whether your dog enjoys long adventures, gentle strolls or just pottering around in the garden, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, settled and right at home during their stay. Every dog is different, so before any booking I’d love to arrange a meet and greet to learn about their routine, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter pace of life, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel relaxed, settled and well cared for throughout their stay. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your dog is safe, happy and being treated as one of the family. I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged best friend!
Reviews

Kirsty looked after Spencer so well, he had a great time - think he’d have been happing staying! Plenty of activities, walks, playing and cuddles. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, and would definitely take him to Kirsty again. Kirsty also sent lots of photos and communication was really good! Very happy indeed.
Kirsty has regularly looked after our dogs for a number of years, and recently helped us out with our new puppies. Kirsty is always very dependable, putting my pets needs first and I have complete trust in her, knowing that she provides excellent care in a very safe and comfortable environment. Kirsty is very experienced and also knowledgeable about dogs and cats and I have no hesitation in recommending her to others.
Kirsty provides an exceptional experience when looking after my 2 dogs. She has always spent the time to understand their needs, provides regular photos and updates and above all is exceptionally caring towards them. She has cared for my 2 from puppy age through their adult years, even when one was suffering a cruciate injury (Which involved, much slower and on lead walks). I absolutely would not hesitate to recommend Kirsty to anyone who is looking for a reliable, trustworthy and caring pet sitter.
