Safe & Reliable Small Dog Sitter

Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 20 years of experience caring for small dogs, both personally and professionally. We’ve always had dogs in our home, and today we’re lucky to share it with 3 small pups—Pippa (F) & Geordie (M) sweet Yorkies, and Benny (M) our gentle Shih Tzu. They’re friendly, well-socialized, and love having new friends visit and stay with us! Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to pet sit for friends and family, and I joined Rover to extend that care to others in our community. We truly love welcoming small dogs into our lives, and so does our whole family. What we offer you is… Reliable, experienced, and communicative care Dog-safe home with a large fenced yard 3 friendly resident dogs for companionship Personalized care, daily routines, and updates with photos/videos Whether your pup is a cuddler, a senior, or just needs a gentle and loving temporary home, we’re here to make their stay feel like a vacation. We’re currently accepting small dog clients (under 25 lbs) for boarding. We’d love to meet you and your pup! PLEASE NOTE OPERATING HOURS FOR PICK UP AND DROP OFF ARE BETWEEN 9am - 9pm. This is in consideration of keeping our guests settled around sleep routines and our family.

This was our first time booking with kirsty to look after our little man. We was a little nervous leaving him, as he is getting older and less active. But kirsty made the nerves disappear. We had a meet and greet where bruce met kirstys lovely doggies and some others who were in boarding at the time. The was very reassuring and hearing how much love kirsty has for all the dogs just made it confirm that this was the perfect place for bruce. Whilst we was away kirsty kept us upto date with lots of photos and comments on what bruce had been upto. This made us so happy and it was lovely to see how settled bruce had become. We would 100% use kirsty again and would 100% recommend. Bruce certainly had a great time as he slept the whole day and night when he was home to recharge his batteries!! Thank you again kirsty!

Safety, trust & environment

Our home is designed with safety and comfort in mind. We have a spacious, fully escape-proofed backyard that our dogs absolutely love. In the summer, we create a cozy outdoor setup with a shaded tent, cooling beds, and plenty of toys—giving pups a comfortable place to relax and play. In the winter months, we section off the garden for safe access and focus on structured indoor and outdoor activities to keep everyone active and stimulated. We’re also fortunate to live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood with beautiful walking paths and easy access to a nearby provincial park—perfect for daily walks filled with fresh air, new scents, and lots of enriching sights.

Pets

A typical day

We structure our days much like a well-run children’s daycare—calm, consistent, and focused on meeting each pup’s physical and emotional needs. Here’s what a typical day looks like for our small dog guests: • Morning Routine – Bathroom break and breakfast right after waking • Mid-Morning Activity – A walk or active playtime in our secure backyard • Bathroom Breaks – every 2 hours or anytime someone signals—when one goes, everyone gets a chance! • Snack Time – A small, pup-safe treat (e.g., dried liver, Dentastix, or similar poultry-free option) is given around lunchtime • Nap Time – Quiet rest with “Auntie” from 1:00–3:00 PM in a cozy, calm setting • Afternoon Play – Gentle play or enrichment activities followed by dinner at 5:00 PM (all food is then put away for the night) • Evening Wind-Down – Another short walk or backyard play session after dinner, followed by calm indoor time • Bedtime Routine – Wind-down begins around 8:00 PM. Dogs sleep just as they would at home—whether that’s in our bed, in a crate, or on their favorite spot from the many comfy beds available. You’re also welcome to bring their own bedding for familiarity. Our goal is to provide a familiar, safe, and nurturing rhythm that makes every dog feel at ease—just like home, only with more friends!

What to Bring To help your pup settle in comfortably and maintain their usual routine, please bring the following items (all clearly tagged with your pups name): • Food – for guests not taking advantage of our supplied kibble (poultry free always), bring food for the entire stay, plus a little extra just in case. Please include feeding instructions (portions, times, preferences) • Medications & Supplements – Clearly labeled with dosage and schedule. I’m experienced in administering a variety of medications and am happy to follow your exact routine. • Bedding & Comfort Items – If your dog has a favorite bed, blanket, or toy, feel free to bring it along. We also have plenty of cozy options here, but familiar scents can help ease transitions. • Leash, Harness, & Collar – For daily walks and outdoor play. • Treats (optional) – If your dog has preferred or restricted treats, please include those as well. • Crate (if used at home) – If your pup is crate-trained or finds comfort in their crate, you’re welcome to bring it. We do have an array to choose from should that make things easier for you. If your dog has any special needs—dietary, medical, or behavioral—please let me know in advance so I can provide the best possible care. All pets are fed in separate, low-pressure spaces using staggered mealtimes to ensure a calm and respectful dining environment. We do our best to mirror your dog’s home routine, including sleeping arrangements. Whether your pup sleeps in a crate, on their own bed, or cuddled up in yours—we’re happy to accommodate!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
