Pet care experience

Missing my dog, let me spoil yours!

I’ve always loved dogs and have had a dog of my own, a rescue dapple Dachshund called Betty. She was a very special part of our family, and although I still get to see her a few times a year, I really miss having a dog around day to day. She’s a big part of why I love dogs so much and why I’d love to spend more time with them again. 🐾 I currently work from home 3 days a week and have weekends off, giving me plenty of flexibility. I’m a Triage Nurse Practitioner working with children and adolescents, supporting those with mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions, so being patient, caring and understanding of individual needs is a big part of what I do every day. Betty was quite an anxious dog, so I have first-hand experience of helping a nervous dog feel safe, comfortable and settled. I understand that some dogs need a little extra patience, reassurance and time to build trust. I have plenty of energy and love going for walks, playing, keeping dogs entertained and getting out and about, but I’m equally happy having a good cuddle on the sofa! I’d love the opportunity to give your dog lots of attention, care and companionship, while making sure they feel happy, comfortable and well looked after. I’m also really looking forward to enjoying some lovely doggy companionship again myself! ❤️🐶

Kirstin was amazing with Loki, I could tell he loved his time there. She kept me updated throughout his stay with messages and photos, which was really nice to see! Her home is very pet-friendly and Loki seemed so comfortable and happy there. She was really easy to communicate and book with, responds quickly, and was accommodating when I needed to change the pick up time. I could tell Loki was genuinely well cared for and given lots of love and attention. I would happily leave Loki in Kirstin’s care again and would 100% recommend her!!

I couldn’t recommend Kirstin highly enough as a dog sitter/walker. She’s always been incredibly gentle, attentive and caring with dogs, and I’ve seen first-hand how well she looks after her own dog, Betty. She’s also my go-to sitter for Daisy whenever I’m away for work or on holiday, and I always know Daisy is in safe, loving hands. Kirstin is responsible, trustworthy and quick to respond if anything unexpected comes up. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their dog!

Kirstin has looked after my pup a few times and she’s absolutely amazing with him! He’s normally very anxious around new people but he warmed up to her so quickly and adores her now! Shes very caring, attentive, and patient in nature and you can tell she loves animals a lot. I am always comfortable leaving my pup in her hands and would 100% recommend her! ❤️

Kirstin was absolutely amazing with Rolo!!! She took such great care of him and I could tell he was really happy and comfortable in her care. He can be a bit funny with new people but they got on right away. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. Kirstin was reliable, caring and brilliant with him. I’d definitely recommend her and will 100% be using her again! Thank you so much, Kirstin! 🥰

Kirstin is phenomenal. She has a huge love for dogs and would defo be the perfect person to dog sit. Shes got a level of patience, care and empathy needed for our furry friends and anyone would be lucky to have her. I’ve got a dog myself and would happily let Kirstin dog sit as she always takes an interest in how my Nala is getting on.

Kirstin has an extremely caring nature and has always loved animals, especially dogs. Since she lost her dog she has been so keen to help others out with their pets, looking after them, taking them on walks and of course giving them big cuddles. Kirstin is experienced with dogs and has also looked after my tortoise, she is trustworthy and respectful.

Schedule

I currently work from home 3 days a week and have weekends off, which gives me plenty of flexibility to spend quality time with dogs. I’m able to give them lots of attention throughout the day rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I’m quite active and have lots of energy, so I’d be more than happy to fit in walks, playtime and plenty of cuddles depending on what your dog enjoys.

Safety, trust & environment

My main priority is making sure every dog feels safe, comfortable and settled while they’re with me. I’m very adaptable and would always follow the routine, rules and preferences that you have for your dog. If they’re staying in my home, they can have full access to the house if you’re happy for them to. If you’d prefer them to avoid the stairs, we have a door downstairs that can be closed to keep them safely on one level. I have a secure, fenced garden with plenty of grass, so dogs can have space to explore, sniff and relax outside. I also have extra blankets, dog toys and treats that can be shared, although I’d always check with you first before giving them anything. I have a good understanding of caring for dogs, including being aware of foods and things that can be harmful to them. Most importantly, I’d take the time to understand your dog’s individual personality, routine and needs, and do everything I can to make them feel at home, whether that means lots of energetic play and walks, or a quiet spot and plenty of cuddles. 🐶❤️

A typical day

A typical day with me includes plenty of stimulation, fun games, a good walk, lots of opportunities for sniffing and exploring, and of course plenty of cuddles! I like to make sure dogs get a good balance of exercise, mental stimulation, relaxation, and affection.

Before looking after your dog, I’d like to know about any particular behaviours, needs, routines, or quirks they have. For example, if your dog gets nervous/excited around other dogs or your dog only likes to sleep with their favourite blanket. Please also let me know about any allergies, dietary requirements, medications, or anything else that would help me make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for.
