Safety, trust & environment

Your dog’s safety and emotional well-being is my top priority. I use a combination of positive reinforcement, enrichment and teaching loose-leash walking skills to achieve this. House sitting: My own dog will come with me for overnight stays; she is spayed, up-to-date on shots, and highly sociable with other animals.

Information Kirstin B. would like to know about your pet

The more I know about your pets, the better. Their favourite treats, toys, words, etc. will all help make it easier for me to connect with your pet and give them the care they need!

A typical day

A typical day with me is all about balance: mental stimulation, physical activity, and plenty of love. I believe in giving dogs time to explore the world through their nose - it reduces stress, builds confidence and expends energy.

Gestalt: Holistic Dog Training

Pet care experience

Gestalt (noun): the sum of many parts and the way those parts interact. My gestalt, or holistic, dog training approach takes into consideration the whole animal; their needs, their preferences and their environment. Using this holistic approach, I can find solutions to behaviours while respecting the whole dog.

Kirstin was fantastic! My babies were well cared for and she went over and above to care for them. I definitely recommend her!!

Kirstin is fantastic. She was the first dog walker we had after bringing my rescue dog home, and she was such a huge help with leash manners, attention redirection, helping her to get comfortable with nail trims, in addition to all the walks. We are bummed that she is moving and can’t continue with us, but I know she will be making a difference for all the other pets and pet parents she meets in her new location. If anyone needs a dog walker whose first priority is understanding and meeting your dog’s needs with genuine care, choose Kirstin.
