Pet care experience

Certified Animal Lover

Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Whether you've got a zoomie-powered puppy, a senior snoozer, or somewhere in between, I’m committed to providing attentive, compassionate care tailored to their unique needs. As a pet parent myself, I have hands-on experience working with reactive and anxious dogs, and I understand the patience, consistency, and awareness they require. I’m comfortable following specific training techniques, avoiding triggers on walks, and creating a calm, safe environment to help your pet feel secure and supported. My experience also includes: Puppies: Reinforcing routines, basic commands, and plenty of supervised play High-energy/working dogs: Structured exercise, mental enrichment, and keeping a consistent schedule Senior dogs: Gentle care, administering medications if needed, and keeping a steady routine Cats: From social snugglers to independent explorers—I respect their space while making sure they feel safe and enriched Other small animals: I’m happy to care for other furry (or feathered!) companions as well. I believe every pet deserves individualized care, lots of love, and a dependable sitter you can trust. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is happy and in good hands while you’re away.

Safety, trust & environment

I think structure is important for a pet, so I am happy to use whatever training tools you have already implemented. We pet parents don't mess around when it comes to our babies, so whatever routines work for your pet (no matter how specific or silly you may think), I'm happy to oblige.

Kristen was very attentive to our pups! Was also very flexible we had to book someone last minute for going out of town and she was able to fit our babies into her schedule! Gave us consistent updates/photos of our pups! Would 100% recommend!

Kirsten was very communicative and took great care of my kitties, making sure my chronically ill girl took her meds even when she was being uncooperative.

Kirsten was extremely helpful to help on a short notice. She was very responsive to reply to me. She relieved a lot of my anxieties with having a senior dog. I would trust Kirsten with my dog again!

Kirsten was fantastic! She accepted a last-minute weekend drop-in request and immediately put my mind at ease. Her communication was excellent, she was always on time, and she followed all instructions perfectly. The drop-in cards were detailed and thoughtful, and the photos she sent were absolutely adorable. Most importantly, my pups instantly trusted her and looked completely comfortable in her care. We will definitely be reaching out to Kirsten again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter. Thank you, Kirsten!

Kirsten was able to drop in twice with a short notice for my two pups. She sent fun pictures and updates while she was checking on them. She was super quick to respond and we will definitely request her again!

Schedule

I work full-time in the North Liberty area and I am free most early mornings until 7am, after 4 pm, and anytime on weekends. I could occasionally do a quick check-in on my lunch break, as well. I'm always happy to get a little more activity into my day.

Every animal is unique, so please let me know if your pet has any quirks or specific routines that I should know about - i.e. my dog won't eat his food unless he gets his release command "okay."
