We currently have no dog of our own so dog sitting gives us a way to interact with a variety of animals. I often have a work from home schedule during the week so there is almost always someone at home with your pooch.

My middle-school and high school age kids are ready to help with feeding, walking, playing fetch and scooping up the doggie doo! We make sure to care for only one Rover family at a time so that your pooch gets one-on-one attention. I don't have a fenced in yard, but I like walking dogs and can take them on the leash around the nearby lake. I have a doggie bed ready for your pooch and I also have wooden floors on the main level so I don't have to worry about any accidents or mud - easy clean up. If you have a senior dog or just one that doesn't like stairs I can put a baby gate up to keep them on the main level.

I like retrievers and labs, but happy to watch the little ones too. I can take your pooch out for frequent bathroom breaks or walks as needed. I would like to know any health sensitivities, any specific commands, and any habits or routines they have at home. I want your dog to feel as at home as possible. I encourage you to bring their kennels and food with, along with any special treats or toys to help their stay be as stress-free as possible! I would also need to know that the dog has positive experience with kids. My kids are very good at being gentle, but at the same time they are kids. It's important that any dog we host is comfortable with the sporadic movement and excitement of kids. Before any pet's stay, I schedule a "meet and greet" to make sure they seem like a good fit and to get to know each other. If all goes well, then their stay is booked! Note that we cannot accommodate your dog if: *they are an escape artist - I do not have a fenced in yard *they excessively bark *they have strong instincts to guard *they become aggressive or destructive At this time I do not have experience with/accept the following breeds: -American Bulldog -Rottweiler -Doberman Pinscher -Wolfhound -Greyhound -Pitbull -Collie -Shepard -Akita -Chihuahuas
A typical day
I like to go for walks, play fetch ang tug-of-war. I’m happy to have a companion while working and a reason to get out for a walk every day! When any pet is here, I try to keep on schedule with their normal routine as closely as I can.

Caring for your dog is our top priority. I grew up with a golden retriever and then spent time volunteering with RAGOM (Retrieve a Golden of the Midwest). While with RAGOM I helped foster dogs and managed the hotline calls. Eventually I adopted a beautiful golden of my own. He’s since passed away and I haven't adopted another one yet, so I’m happy to watch your pooch. All pups are loved by my two children and carefully attended to by mom.

Kirsten is amazing. Our dog, Gus, has stayed with her 3 times while we have been away for weekend trips. He gets TONS of attention, love, and exercise. Kirsten also sends lots of pictures and updates. It gives me so much peace of mind to know Gus is in great hands when we're away.
