I am a lover of all dogs but have extensive experience with high-energy and reactive dogs. I previously directed a pit bull rescue here in Victoria which included fundraising, finding and supporting foster homes and volunteers, fostering dogs myself, and assessing dogs in shelters for our program. I have owned 4 dogs, one of which was dog-reactive so I have no issues walking and managing dogs like this and have creative ways to wear them out. I also have experience with resource guarding issues and keep a watchful eye out for this. I do welcome all breeds and sizes; all dogs are treated equally and trained the same. Your dog will be welcomed as a member of my family and have access to my large, securely fenced back yard and sundeck for sunny snoozes.

Pets in my home will ideally be integrated with the resident dogs while I am around to supervise, but kept separated when I am not at home. I have a young child so any dogs I board MUST be good with children. I am very routine-oriented and believe this gives pets a feeling of security. In your home I will visit, care for and love your pets as if they were my own, and leave your home exactly the way I found it, if not better.

I need to know your dog's energy level, level of training, aggression issues (animal, food, toy, etc), special needs whether behavioural or medical, likes/dislikes, things to watch for. I will not board a dog with any human aggression or who can't live with my dogs. I adore bully breeds and big dogs but am a lover of all dogs and happy to provide services for any size and breed of dog.
A typical day
I enjoy walking, hiking and biking so can adjust the exercise based on the needs and energy of the dog. I live near Royal Roads and have access to beautiful trails and Esquimalt Lagoon nearby for walking and hiking. I have biked and roller bladed with high energy dogs, done fetch and flirt pole in my large yard, hiked with a long lead for dogs who need work on their recall, and taken dogs swimming at nearby Glen or Langford Lakes for lower impact exercise.

Availability
I currently work full time from Monday to Friday so I am out of the house for 8-9 hours. Dogs are fed and let out every morning before work and then fed and thoroughly exercised every day after work. Weekends allow for longer hikes, swims etc. Drop in visits with your pets can be done before or after work hours.
