Hello! I’ve been passionate about all animals my entire life. I started volunteering for a vet at the age of 10. I was hired by a different vet at the age of 12 and worked at that small animal clinic for the next six years. I have a degree in Zoology and a vast knowledge of animal healthcare and husbandry. I’ve developed and sold my own unique pet product. I’ve raised, trained, and cared for a huge variety of animals for 40 years. I’ve had 11 dogs of my own, and have trained many more. If you’re looking for kind, compassionate, and skilled care, hire me! I have a great deal of experience in emergency medicine and wound care. I would love to care for your pets!

Kirk was amazing watching Coffee! She gets super anxious being left alone and he was attentive and made sure she knew she was okay the whole time. Would absolutely book with him again!

Gertie warmed up to him immediately, and we had no hesitation leaving our girl in his hands while we explored the gorgeous Bar Harbor/ANP area. Kirk did an outstanding job pet/house sitting for us. He is dependable and arrived on time for the stay. He is a great communicator and kept us informed by text and with photos and videos. Kirk is cognizant of situations that may need attention; there was a medical issue about which Kirk informed us. After visiting with us, Kirk confidently resolved the issue and took the best care of our dog. Kirk took great care of our house as well. Mail was brought in; plants were watered; floors were vacuumed; kitchen, bathroom, bedroom were cleaned. It was as if we had never left. Our dog was happy to see us but was very calm and content. It was obvious to us that Kirk had provided a secure stay for him. We had absolutely no worries about our dog or the house while Kirk was in our home. We highly recommend Kirk and will rebook with him in the future without hesitation.

Schedule
I have a lot of fee time and make my own schedule. I am happy to socialize your dog by taking them to dog parks or restaurant settings if you like. I will follow any specific instructions or requests you have. I can care for injured animals and give medication as directed. I made all the food for my dogs, so special diets requests are no problem! I worked with a dog groomer for years, so I can do basic grooming for your dogs and cats (ears, nails, combing, etc. but no specialty cuts like Poodles, Schnauzers, etc.). I love cats and all sizes and breeds of dog equally. I am physically fit, so long walks or hikes are no trouble for me. I will make certain your animals are physically and emotionally comfortable. Last, I am totally comfortable and well capable of managing dog breeds regarded as aggressive or dog aggressive. I will ensure your dog and every other animal and person stays safe. I’ll make sure your pets are happy!

I have a large, securely fenced yard. I can board your animals, or care for them at your location. Other than to walk your dog, I will generally not leave the house while pets are in my care. We can do FaceTime or Zoom calls if you want to check on them. You won’t be disappointed!
A typical day
I love to let dogs explore. I will take them to a variety of areas if you become a regular client. As long as it’s safe, I let them pick where they want to go during a walk. Let me know, or provide me with, any special toys or insights into activities they enjoy. I’m happy to engage them in different play that will stimulate their senses and keep them entertained! Please let me know if your dog has any aggressive tendencies towards other dogs when it comes to fetch or other play activities.
