Hello! My love for dogs started when I met Rocky, a beautiful German Shepherd. His name was my first word and I am thankful that I had him as my companion. I wasn't able to have dogs as a child, so when I grew older I started volunteering at dog rescues (HART, VGSR and NGPR) and worked at a doggy daycare. I loved building relationships with all of the dogs there and their comfort, safety, and happiness was very important to me. I have worked at an animal hospital where I was able to medically assist dogs and cats and I worked at an animal shelter for 6 years. It's very rewarding and I loved my job. YES, I’ve worked with tons of cats as well so I’m familiar with taking care of them! At the hospital, shelter and Rover too. I have a farm about an hour away where I rescued and raised my dogs. They're the polar bears in my gallery (Great Pyrenees. The other pictures are from dogs I’ve taken care of!). They love guarding the farm and thrive in that environment. I have experience with all dogs: all sizes, temperaments, and personalities. I've handled and calmed down nervous/scared dogs at work. I've trained myself to look for behavior signs in dogs to make sure I can accommodate them as best as possible. I've handled three-legged dogs, dogs who need medication, etc. I believe this part is very important because it means very much to me. I am a Pitbull advocate. I love Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, etc. Basically every breed that unfortunately has a bad reputation, I shower with love. I'm someone who will see a Bull Mastiff and immediately ask permission from the owner if I can pet them. This doesn't mean I don't like small-medium sized dogs. I loved sitting down at the doggy daycare and watching Chihuahuas and Yorkies jump on my lap. I just feel strongly about misrepresented breeds. EVERY dog deserves love and care because every dog is a gift to this world.
