About Kira R.

Safety, trust & environment

From previous experience hosting small dogs here, we designed a system of spatial separation, not to stress either your pet or house cat. It will have half of the house to explore. We already keep everything edible out of the cat's reach, and there's strict "shut doors, shut windows" policy for our escape artist, so yours also won't have a chance. In others' home, I follow their requirements. If there's no instructions given, I'll look out for following: - no human food eaten - no paws on the table, kitchen counter, etc. - no pushing fragile things from surfaces, no fighting heavy things (that may fall on them) - if there's toys, offer to play every once in a while - if they're comfortable, pet and cuddle Outside: - no picking from the ground - interactions controlled - no off-leash walks, playing off-leash only in the fenced yard or in a dog park - I usually let them to pick the route, but try to walk for at least 20-30 minutes.

Information Kira R. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog have preferred activities, behaviour I should account for, or if there's anything that will make them feel more comfortable in my presence. I also would like to know if they're allowed on the couches/tables/bed, and how they feel about being picked up (especially in case I need to remove them from somewhere). If there's treats I can give them, it's also a great info to have!

A typical day

I like to play tug-of-war or play-wrestle with the dogs inside the house, and take long walks with changing roots outside. If there's a fenced yard or dog playground, I will happily play fetch with them or run and explore together.

Pet care experience

I've lived with pets since I was born. As soon as I could walk, I was eager to help take care of them: clean the cats’ litter boxes, walk the dog, feed them, change the water, and of course, play with them. As I grew older, so did our dog. In his old age, Archie needed slower, more frequent walks, more attention, different diet and feeding schedule - I was always there for him. That’s how I first learned to care for old dogs as well. I miss him dearly. Nowadays, I live with a cat! He's a very sweet boy, even though a little bit shy. It's my roommate’s first cat, and I’m happy to guide him through this wonderful adventure with my experience. If you’re looking for a gentle attentive caregiver for your furry baby, I got you!

I know Kira for 10 years, and his family always had animals around. Kira is giving all the animals the best care - he walked his elder dog with patience and attention to it's health. He is also very responsible about feeding his cats and caring for them. All his pets love him a lot. Kira even found a way to become friends with my own cat, which has a severe social anxiety and fear of strangers. So, I can recommed Kira as a very attentive and caring petsitter.

I've known Kira his whole life and he is one of the most caring sweetest people I know. He's lived with dogs and cats almost his entire life. He's had to care for our family chocolate lab (RIP Archie) both as a young energetic puppy and as an old man who needed a lot of attention. On the other hand, he's watched my weird little chihuahua many times, and my chihuahua would be reluctant to go home with me after. Also he didn't even ask for this, but his roommates adopted a cat and then became fairly sporadic with being present, and Kira stepped up caring for the cat because the cat is there. All in all, he's very responsible, animals love him and I'd easily vouch for him to take excellent care of a cat or a dog, old or young or with special needs.
