Pet care experience

Paws, Play, and Peace of Mind

I’ve been pet sitting since I was 17, and over the years I’ve had the joy of caring for all kinds of animals big and small. From playful puppies and curious kittens to sweet senior pets who need a little extra TLC, I’ve done it all. I’m also experienced in giving medication when needed, and I truly love providing comfort, care, and companionship to every furry friend I meet.

As we have read in another review of Kinan, he has a major time management issue. He was a no-show for our first meet and greet, using the excuse of a mis-understanding. We gave him a second chance and he seemed to be a good fit for our high energy, high anxiety cattle dog. He seemed to understand that my dog was anxious and scared but not aggressive. We booked him for a one-night stay in our home. We asked him to come at 2:00pm, so that we can get him acquainted with our home, yard, feeding and pottying instructions, etc. He was 45 minutes late, using unexpected traffic as an excuse. When we reached out the next morning, he asked us, "how long did you need me today? We paid him until 3:00pm but since we were coming home, he left at 10:00am. Although we were disappointed, we gave him a third chance and hired him for a 4-day, 3-night stay. We had a snow storm moving in and asked him to be at our home at 6:00am. We needed to leave for the airport at 6:45am. Well, he was 1 hour and 20 minutes late, so we had to leave the front door open for him. Again, more excuses for his tardiness. He claimed he slept in and had to clear snow from the driveway to get his truck out. After being over an hour late, he waited an additional 3 hours to let our dog out to potty and then our pup was in the house for 21 straight hours (10:30am to 7:30am) without a potty break. I have security cameras and check the videos regularly to see how things are going. When asked why my dog wasn't let out all day and night, he said that my dog wouldn't go out for him. We hired Kinan because he is a professional pet-sitter, vetted by Rover that has had a dog phycology class. He should be able to adapt to a dog who is anxious and afraid of new people. I offered some advice and asked him to just leave the sliding door open and the dog will go out by himself. The next morning, he left our house for 7 hours (10am-5pm. My neighbor called us to say that Kinan has been gone all day and asked if they can go over and let my dog out for us. We immediately called Kinan and he said his truck broke down and was on his way back. Again, another excuse. When he finally got to the house he let our dog out, then the pup was in the house all night again without going potty until the morning. We finally decided to cut our trip short, paid $300 in airline change-fees and flew home. We told Kinan that we were on our way home and to pack up and leave. After arriving home, we noticed several 6-8 stains on the living room carpet where my dog had gone potty. It was apparently picked up from the carpet but not cleaned. Despite leaving a full, typed page of instructions, we had to continually reach out to him because we were not getting any updates/pictures via text like we requested. The only positive about this entire experience was that he washed the bath towels, ran the dishwasher and made his bed.
