Pet care experience

House sitter, LVT, Pet Trainer

My first language was dog. I have lived and worked with many breeds of dogs, cats, horses, and other species, in my lifetime. I am a professional house-sitter, kennel-sitter, dog trainer of 35 plus years. I am also a certified behavior consultant, former Red Cross Animal Emergency & CPR Instructor, and NYS Licensed Veterinary Technician. I am currently teaching the Animal Care Education series continuing education at SUNY ULSTER Fall & Spring Semesters. I just renewed Pet 1st Aid and CPR certification. I teach Pet 1st Aid & CPR, as well as other great classes on keeping people and pets safe and comfortable. I love doing behavior modification, teaching puppies, reaching owners, and the 'lightbulb' moment in both the owner and the pet they love. I bring my positive reinforcement training and working 'from the animal's perspective' philosophy into every interaction I have with experience with your pets. I work with your pet as if it is my own. **IMPORTANT NOTES TO READ** ***Meet and Greets are REQUIRED for ALL services, please plan ahead ****Housesitting with dogs and cats, or cats only, prices can be discussed and adjusted. This platform doesn’t give me ways to price accurately for distance and care..Price adjustments would be discussed at, and be made after Meet n Greet. ***Reinforcing your training on leash and basic manners are an incidental bonus. *** I have a family owned dog training facility, in Kingston, where Day Care takes place. Very limited size groups with constant attention. Schedule well in advance. ***Exotic Pet experience! ***Housesitting is my highest demand, with repeat private clients booking me a year in advance, please consider that when looking at my availability May-Oct, as well as holidays. Out of state housesits are common, though travel costs will be incurred. ***Special services are available by request.

Safety, trust & environment

I require a fenced yard, due to a broken back in 2014, and a botched attempt to mitigate pain, I’m unable to walk long distances without assistive devices, and cannot handle a dog that isn’t perfectly leash trained. I’m still active with my own 4 dogs and a cat at home and training clients. I’m very honest and would let you know if your pets are too much for me to handle. So far that has not been the case, as my animal behavior knowledge and experience allow for different types of exercise.

Kim was OUTSTANDING with our dog on our wedding day! He was part of our ceremony as our ring bearer and Kim was more than happy to join us on this day and assist with taking care of him after he was relived of his duties. She helped to watch him the rest of the night while the reception took place and stayed overnight, providing incredible hospitality, love, and care for our pup :) She was the absolute best dog sitter and really helped bring her beautiful energy to our day! Thank you!!

Kim did an outstanding job caring for our cat, Nellie. I enjoyed the videos and the conversations. Kim was clearly building a nice relationship with Nellie who does tend to be shy. Additionally, Kim took good care of our plants and diligently followed all feeding and other instructions.

Kimberly has quite a lot of knowledge, experience, and expertise about dogs. She really helped us a lot with our unruly puppy. She was considerate and communicated throughout the process.

Schedule

Other than some other clients here and there and the occasional Dr & PT appointments, your pets will not be left more than 2-4 hours/day. For lengthy housesits, I will stop in at my home to visit, grab my mail, visit and work with my own pets. Often my husband will meet me with all I need in Kingston or 1/2 way to keep time away from your pets at a minimum.

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs
