Pet care experience

Calm, Experienced Dog Lover

I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have cared for many pets for friends and family over the years. Growing up, I had a GSP/Lab mix named Jackson, and later my own dog Simon, a dachshund/chihuahua mix who was my companion for over 10 years. Later in life Simon developed diabetes and Cushing’s disease, so I’m very comfortable administering medications, giving insulin injections, and closely monitoring pets who have medical needs. Because of that experience, I’m especially patient and attentive with senior pets and animals who need a little extra care. I’ve cared for dogs of many sizes, breeds, and personalities — including energetic dogs who love long walks and quieter dogs who just want to relax and cuddle. I’m also comfortable with cats and understand that many prefer a calm environment and gentle attention. My approach is calm and patient, which tends to work really well with anxious or shy pets. I always follow the routines and preferences pet parents provide so your pet feels as comfortable as possible while you’re away. Safety is very important to me. If a dog is reactive or requires special precautions on walks, I’m happy to follow those protocols to make sure everyone stays safe.

Kimberly and Collin were awesome. They gave clear instructions for how to get to their apartment and were prompt at responding to messages. Lots of daily updates with pictures! They were so good with my anxious puppy. I would book with them again!

Kimberly was an amazing sitter! She took such great care of our Haribo and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She sent lots of updates, pictures, and little details about how he was doing, which made it clear that he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We truly appreciated how thoughtful and attentive she was. We would absolutely recommend Kimberly and would love to have her watch Haribo again!

Kimberly has done a fantastic job watching, Miles. She gave daily updated about how my dog was doing, which I truly appreciate. Despite Miles not used to being away, he has gotten very comfortable with Kimberly and I can see how much he enjoyed himself. She took great care of him and his needs.

Schedule

I currently have a flexible schedule and am available most days for boarding, drop-ins, and cat care. Because I work from home and spend most of my time locally, visiting pets get plenty of attention, walks, and companionship throughout the day. My boyfriend Colin also lives with me and is a big dog lover, so there is often someone around to give extra attention and care. We live in a very dog-friendly neighborhood and are right across the street from a dog park, which is great for dogs that enjoy getting outside and socializing. Of course, I always follow each pet’s routine and comfort level whether that means walks around the neighborhood, park time, or just relaxing inside.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I live in a clean, pet-friendly apartment in Addison in a neighborhood with lots of dogs and safe walking areas. We’re also directly across the street from a dog park for pets that enjoy socializing and getting extra exercise. I always follow the owner’s preferences, so if your dog prefers quiet walks instead of the park, that’s completely fine too. I currently don’t have any pets in my home, which helps create a calm and relaxed environment for visiting pets. My boyfriend Colin also lives with me and loves animals, so there is often someone around to provide extra attention and care. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, feeding schedule, and any instructions you provide. I’m also experienced administering medications, including insulin injections, and monitoring pets who have medical needs. For safety during walks, I use secure leashes and stay attentive to the dog’s comfort and behavior. If a dog is reactive or requires specific precautions, I’m happy to follow those protocols to keep everyone safe. I also provide updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

A typical day

A typical day includes several walks, lots of attention, and plenty of time to relax. I like to follow each pet’s normal routine so they feel comfortable and settled while you’re away. We’ll go on walks around the dog-friendly neighborhood, and if your dog enjoys it and you’re comfortable with it, we can also visit the dog park across the street for some playtime and socializing. At home there’s lots of lounging, pets, and cuddle time so your dog feels right at home. For cats, I make sure they get playtime, attention, and a calm environment while keeping their feeding and litter routines consistent.

Before a stay, I like to learn about your pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide the best care possible. Please let me know about feeding schedules, medications, allergies, energy levels, and how your pet does around other dogs or new environments. If your dog is reactive on walks or needs specific handling, I’m happy to follow those instructions to keep everyone safe. I also appreciate knowing your pet’s favorite activities, toys, and comfort items so I can help them feel at home while you’re away.
