Before caring for your pet, I like to learn as much as possible so I can give them the best (and safest) care while you’re away. 🐾 It’s especially helpful to know: • Their daily routine (feeding schedule, potty breaks, walk times) • Any medical needs, medications, or allergies • Behavioral quirks (anxiety, fear of storms, resource guarding, escape tendencies, etc.) • How they do with other dogs, cats, or people • Energy level and favorite activities • Any triggers that cause stress • Emergency contact information and vet details I also love knowing their favorite toys, treats, and comfort items so I can keep things feeling familiar and fun for them. The more I know ahead of time, the smoother and more comfortable the experience will be for your pet. 💛

I love making sure pets have as much fun as they feel comfortable with! 🐾 For active dogs, we’ll go on engaging walks with plenty of sniff breaks, play fetch, tug-of-war, or practice basic commands for mental stimulation. If they enjoy adventure, we can explore nearby parks. For more relaxed pets, I’m happy to do cuddle time, gentle play, brushing, enrichment toys, or calm companionship. I can also incorporate puzzle feeders or treat games to keep their minds busy. For cats, I enjoy wand toy play, laser time, window watching, and cozy lap time (if they’re the snuggly type!). I always tailor activities to each pet’s age, energy level, and personality—my goal is for them to feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. 🐶🐱

Extra Patience for Pets Who Need It

I’ve always had dogs and cats in my life, and caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I’m an avid hiker and have been lucky to share many trails with amazing “trail dogs” over the years. I’ve also pet sat for coworkers, doing drop-ins multiple times a day, and I’m currently providing overnight care for a puppy—something I truly enjoy. Over time, I realized this is something I’d love to do more of. When I say “us,” I mean my little household too: I have a mixed-breed dog and a cat. My cat is gentle and friendly and gets along well with dogs. My dog, Ziggy, is my first male and a rescue from the pound. He’s been a challenge at times, but with patience, consistency, and lots of love, he’s made wonderful progress—and continues to do so. Because of that experience, I have a special place in my heart for shelter dogs and pets who may need a little extra patience, care, and understanding. I’d love the opportunity to offer that same compassion and support to your pets, helping them feel safe, loved, and at ease while you’re away.
