Highlights
Pet care experience
Savin Hill Retreat + Private Yard
I’ve had a dog of my own for more than 15 years and grew up surrounded by animals, so caring for pets has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I also have firsthand experience caring for a medically complex, special-needs dog. My previous pup lived with epilepsy as well as other health challenges, which taught me how important patience, consistency, close observation, and attention to routine can be. That experience has also made me very comfortable with dogs who take medications or need a little extra care. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and I approach each dog as an individual—taking the time to understand their personality, routines, preferences, and needs.

Kimberly was a great sitter! She sent regular updates and Daeny seemed to have a great time. We hope she is available for our next trip!

Kimberly and Brian were wonderful! They took sent lots of updates and pictures of my pup and took great care of him. With a senior dog who has to take medication morning and night, it was a relief to have him in such good friends. And he and their dog, Lola, became buds by the end of it. Would absolutely recommend them!

Kim took in my French bulldog for several days while I was away for a wedding. I’m a bit of a worry wart when it comes to my pup and I must say I was at ease knowing Frankie was in Kim’s care. I got daily updates with pics and videos, and Frankie looked truly happy in all.
I have gotten to know Kim quite well over the several years she has cared for my dogs. I can always count on her ability to provide a safe space, and I return to relaxed, happy, healthy and well cared for pups. She is wonderful about sending updates and photos daily. When I leave my dogs with Kim, I know that they will get the daily walks that they are used to. In fact, she has a great , completely fenced in back yard for additional fresh air and exercise! I have seen the love she has given her own dog, who at 14, just recently crossed over the rainbow bridge. He had many seizures and medications (including injections) which she lovingly provided for him. I would without hesitation recommend Kim if you are looking for a reliable, compassionate pet sitter.

Schedule
I work from home, so I’m able to spend much of the day with the dogs in my care and offer frequent potty breaks, outdoor time, walks, and companionship. My schedule also gives me flexibility to follow your dog’s established routine as closely as possible, including their usual meal times, medications, walks, and bedtime routine. My husband, Brian, works outside the home but is also part of our dogs’ home-away-from-home experience when he’s here. Between time with us, our friendly resident pup Lola, and access to the yard, our goal is for dogs to settle into the comfortable rhythm of a real household.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
We offer a calm, home-based alternative to a traditional boarding environment. Our Savin Hill home has a private yard surrounded by a 6-foot privacy fence, giving dogs a secure space for supervised outdoor time, potty breaks, play, or simply relaxing in the fresh air. We share our home with Lola, our friendly and low-key 10-year-old Chihuahua mix. We take the time to get to know each dog’s personality, routines, boundaries, and comfort level so we can create an environment where everyone feels safe and at ease. Having cared for our own dogs for more than 15 years—including a medically complex dog with epilepsy—We are also very attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, energy, and overall well-being. We know how much trust goes into leaving your dog in someone else’s care, and we take that responsibility seriously.

A typical day
There really isn’t a one-size-fits-all day here! We try to build each dog’s stay around the routine they’re accustomed to at home. Since I (Kim) work from home, mornings might begin with breakfast, a neighborhood walk, and some time in our private yard before settling in with me for the workday. Throughout the day, dogs can enjoy regular potty and outdoor breaks, companionship, playtime or naps, and plenty of individual attention. Depending on your dog’s personality, energy level, mobility, comfort in the car, and your preferences, we may also take a short drive for a scenic waterfront stroll or a peaceful nature walk. Dogs who would rather stay closer to home can enjoy neighborhood walks and plenty of time in the yard instead. Evenings are relaxed and home-based, with dinner, another walk or some yard time, and plenty of opportunity to unwind with us. We will follow your dog’s usual sleeping arrangements and bedtime routine as closely as we can so their days here feel familiar, comfortable, and fun.
