I am a writer so I work from home and can take breaks whenever I want. It makes caring for pups ideal, especially when they inspire much of my writing.

Safety, trust & environment
I conduct extremely thorough Meet n Greets and ask tons of questions. I also crafted my own Care Sheet which includes tons of detailed information. I insist on harnesses as your pup might walk great at their own home however here there are so many new sights and smells. I treat my Guests like they were my own, adhering to their schedules at home with the exception of additional potty breaks. I have baby gates at the front door so that they cannot get outside should the front door need opening, to the kitchen so they cannot get into anything they shouldn't, and to the stairs so they don't wander out of my sight. When I go into the kitchen or upstairs, I bring Guests with me so that they have the security of being with me and they cannot get into anything. My pups are on a strict schedule/routine so that they know exactly what to expect and when. They eat healthy food and snacks and healthy treats are regulated. I am a hands-on Dog Mom and love, affection, play and snuggling are plentiful and never denied. The same holds true for Guests. I communicate with my Clients openly and honestly, finding out food allowances in case their pup has difficulty eating, learning about potty issues and what to look for. I learn fears, insecurities and always have extra sweaters and blankets in case they get cold. I have AC and fans for hot Summer months. I give meds as directed by Clients completely. I have a designated cabinet in my kitchen to house their belongings and it's kept closed and locked. Safety is of the utmost importance.

Information Kim L. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know everything that makes your dog happy to make his/her stay in our home feel just like the comfort of your home . It's very important for me to know what your pup's personality is like at home from your perspective (and also if he/she has stayed with other people and that experience). I encourage you to share anything and everything about your pup and his/her daily routine; eating habits, potty schedule, snacks you allow, bedtime routine and where he/she sleeps and fears (thunder/fireworks-and what you do if they are afraid). For example, if your dog sleeps in your bed at your home, he/she can do the same in our home. Let me know favorite treats, toys, how many walks a day, and the times during the day your pet enjoys the most interaction with others and /or quiet time. Please also mention if your dog is especially sensitive to hot or cold temperatures . For example, as a Yorkie and Cavvie Mom, I am very aware of hot/cold sensitivity in their breeds and therefore am conscientious of time spent outdoors in certain weather conditions . Also, please provide me with your pet's food and feeding schedule. During our Meet n Greet, I will tell you about the list that I share with my Guests for you to fill out with pertinent information for me. Please let me know if your dog is able to have the treats I give my pups, which can include raw carrots, peeled and sliced cucumber and a few blueberries. On special occasions they get my homemade grain and egg free peanut butter pumpkin cookies (I use almond flour), fresh peanut butter, and frozen homemade fruit treats. If your dog had his/her own treats, I will make sure they get them. Please let me know if your pet has any allergies and what the reaction looks like. Most especially please include an emergency phone number for you, an emergency contact in the area (at least 1 Emergency Contact is necessary as I err on the side of caution), and the name and phone number of your pet's veterinarian. Rest assured, your precious pup will be treated as if he/she was my own! I have no breed preferences or restrictions. As seen on my profile, I only take SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED DOGS ( UP TO 30 POUNDS).
A typical day
My Breezy and Pax, much like all dogs, love routine. I know the importance of a routine in making dogs feel happy, secure, and trusting of their environment. I promise to make routine a priority in caring for your pup(s) too. I will follow your dog's schedule as you desire. A typical doggy day in our home starts with potties and breakfast. I encourage both playtime and rest time throughout the day. A midday snack follows afternoon potties, and is fresh fruit and veggies. When weather permits, I'll take Breezy and Pax for a walk around the complex. Breezy loves playing tuggy with her toys and knows them by name! Both pups gets a "tiny doggy bladder" potty time at 4. Dinnertime is usually 6:30 pm in our home preceded by a potty time. They chill out after dinner and we usually spend a quiet evening sitting on our couch, freshly brushed. In the evening, we sometimes treat them to "Cheerios Chase" - which is, simply, me throwing a handful in the air and them sniffing them out. Other times, we'll practice commands. They love to be brushed and the occasional peanut butter licks that they get are just an added bonus! A potty break again before bedtime, followed by hugs, kisses and "I love you's" end their doggy day. Our home is very pet friendly. All dogs are allowed on furniture and in bed with us. We do not fuss over messes made, or any accidents ( this is why there's Nature's Miracle). Our pups are our family and I will treat yours the same!

Pet care experience
* A MEET N GREET IS A REQUIREMENT BEFORE I CAN CARE FOR YOUR PUP. *I CAN ONLY TAKE PUPS UP TO 30 POUNDS I'm a Dog Mom of 2 and a published Children's Author, so I make my own hours and work from home. My schedule allows me to easily take Breezy and Pax for walks, to the park, and, most importantly, to their scheduled Vet appointments (my Vet is only 5 minutes from our home). My husband, Dan, is home every day so he's able to spend lots of fun time with us too. We live in a safe, secure Townhouse complex and there is lots of open, grassy space for your dog to enjoy fun, safe on-leash walks and/or play (fetch, frisbee and the like). There are also lots of paved paths should your pup prefer a more structured walk. There are dogs in our neighborhood so if your guy or gal likes to be social, I know the areas to go. Should he/she prefer a quieter time, I know those areas as well. No worries. Breezy (our 12-year-old Yorkie) is our little Princess, who loves baths, brushing, and modeling her vast wardrobe. We adopted her when she was 2 and she's added so much joy to our home! She's full of spunk and keeps us on our toes! She has tons of toys, knows them by name, and loves to share! Breezy earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate and Therapy Dog is what we're working on now. Breezy's been in Wal-Mart, the Bank, Post Office and even CVS! Everywhere we go, people smile and give her love and stop to chat. She's quite the socialite, all dressed up in her dresses, sweaters and coats. She loves naps on her pillow or in one of her many beds. She also will do all of her commands for Cheerios. We adopted Pax (our 11-year old Blenheim Cavvie) in the Summer of 2020 and he's a retired stud pup. His full name is "Paxon" which means "peaceful town" and he's brought more peace to our lives. He's a sweetheart and LOVES belly rubs, naps, cucumbers and going for walks! Since he spent the first 5years of his life on a farm with no Vet care and sleeping on woodchips in the barn, he's thoroughly enjoying living the "good life" with lots of cuddler beds, healthy snacks and regular Vet visits (everyone there loves him). He just started giving sloppy Cavvie kisses and standing up to give me hugs. He knows "sit," "up," "down" and "stay." He can no longer hear, however that hasn't affected his sweet disposition (or ability to sniff out Cheerios). He gets along with all dogs (Breezy eggs him on sometimes) and humans who he comes in contact with. He doesn't care for toys or play. He prefers being petted, rubbed and brushed. We are very affectionate and express our love towards Breezy, Pax and Guests through verbal praise, hugs, petting, kisses and healthy treats-veggies, peanut butter, bananas, blueberries, Cheerios (plain), pumpkin, and things I make from scratch! We choose to take only 1 dog into our home at a time to assure that he/she will receive the most personal care and attention possible. I am Certified in Dog Behavior, Training, Dog Psychology, Pet First Aid and CPR, and Pet Loss and Bereavement, and most recently, Canine Communication. I completed a Certification course for Reducing Risks While Caring for Anxious or Aggressive Dogs. I also provide Doggy Day Care if you'd like your boy or girl to spend an afternoon or just a few hours with us having all kinds of fun! I would preferably board and provide daycare to the medium to smaller size dogs. Your dog can expect to enjoy as many short walks a day as he/she so desires. Also, playtime is huge in this house-ropy, fetch, and whatever your pup finds to be the most fun for him/her! Should your little guy/girl be more on the mellow or shy side, rest assured that he/she will be treated with special attention and there is ample room for him/her to have private time with me. I work from home so your pup(s) will have my undivided attention during their entire stay. When pups are in my care, they are my number one priority. I have a fenced in yard and all are invited on the furniture. I have my kitchen gated just in case your baby needs extra attention. I can crate your pup if needed (please bring their crate and any pillows, blankets or stuffed toys).
Reviews
Gracie and Juliet were honored to be Kim's first Rover guests in her beautiful new home! They came home relaxed and happy. They are getting older now, and Kim understands the needs of older dogs. They had a very enjoyable day with their friends - both human and canine!
Winston, my miniature poodle was treated as a member of Kim’s family with love and special care. He needs four meds daily and Kim was diligent about the routine of time and dosages daily. She sent me daily updates and greatly appreciated photos. Kim is a caring individual and I was very comfortable leaving Winston with her. I would definitely call her again! Donna Peragallo

Kim provides loving and supportive care to Honey every minute she is with her. We are so grateful that she is able to assist our family with this vital supportive help.
Juliet and Gracie and getting older and they often require medication and other special care. Juliet has always been nervous, but she seems to be getting even more so with age. Kim understands these issues and tries everything she can to calm her down. Juliet is a challenge, to be sure, and I am so grateful for Kim's care. Gracie was a little under the weather when I dropped her off, but because of Kim's expertise, she is fine now! We are so happy to have Kim as our sitter!
