Currently, Rover is all I do. My classes are over, so if I am doing anything school-related, it is studying for exams or going to school to get clinical hours. If I do have to take care of anything during a booking, most of the time, that is running home to feed, let out, and love on my dogs. I am never gone for very long and always let the owners know when I come and go, and I prioritize the pets at the booking. :)

Safety, trust & environment
When I am in your home, I treat it as if it were my own. I always clean litter boxes daily, wash pet bowls daily, vacuum and mop as needed, throw laundry in the wash that I used if applicable, strip the bed I slept on, etc. I have never left a home a disaster because not only am I watching your fur babies, I am also your house sitter, and you deserve to have your house treated with care as well. I normally will check the mail daily, take out the trash, and water your plants if you have plants. The more I can keep the home clean and comfortable, the happier the pets and the owners are. If your dog stays with me in my home, I treat them just the same. I have three very friendly dogs who are crate trained and I have a fenced in yard. :)

Information Kiley J. would like to know about your pet
It might sound crazy, but before I watch your pets, I want every detail you can think of. One, this is so I am not blowing up your phone with questions while you're away. Two, so I can give your pets the most adequate care I can. Some things that should be known to me that people might not think of are: Is your pet an escape artist? Is there anything you do as precautionary measures so they don't get out? Are they scared of storms, and if so, what is the protocol that you do to calm them down, meds, thunder vest? Are they crated when you are away, and is there anything that should or shouldn't go in their crates with them? Where do they sleep? How long do they hold their potties for? Are they prone to anxiety or need extra care and instructions? Are there specific ways you feed them or administer medications? Those are just some questions that you can include answers to when you book with me and leave me house-sitting instructions. There is plenty more I can add, but those are just to name a few. Any detail you can think of really helps me take care of your pets in the best way I can, and you are the one who knows them best! :)
A typical day
A typical day with me as your pet sitter starts with your animals' routines. I normally wake up early and let them out to potty and/or clean the litter box. I will then do feeding and medications. After that, I will hang out with them, do potty breaks, play-time, etc. Usually, around mid-morning or lunch, I will do a daily check-in. I check in with owners minimum once a day, but usually it's 2-3 times with photos, haha. I try to keep the routine as regular as possible for your pets and make you comfortable with check-ins so you know your fur babies are being taken care of while you are away. :)

Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Kiley, welcome to my Rover profile! A little bit about me: Right out of high school in 2019, I started working at a doggy daycare/boarding facility while attending community college. While working at that facility in MN, I learned fundamental skills needed for quality pet care, such as how to administer injected medications like insulin, recognizing dog behaviors, proper disinfecting techniques, and more. After moving to Jacksonville, NC, in 2020, I began working at a dog bakery/grooming business and learned even more about pet care and products that are truly great for dogs and cats. After working there for about a year while continuing college, I began working at another doggy daycare/boarding facility. While working there, I got even more experience with various breeds and temperaments of dogs. As much as I loved working in an environment like that and getting to know all the different dogs that walked through the doors every day, I came to realize I would rather be my own boss while finishing up my college degree and watching dogs in the comfort of their own homes. I have been doing Rover pet sitting for over 2 years, and I love it. It has allowed me to get to know some amazing dogs/cats and their owners, all while taking my college classes. Currently, I live in Jacksonville, NC, and am primarily serving clients in this area until mid-September 2025. I will be relocating to New Bern, NC mid mid-September. After I relocate, I will not be serving Jacksonville, NC, clients unless they have been regulars of mine, so if you need me before then, just keep that in mind if you live in the Jacksonville area. :) I am still more than happy to help you, and if you need me again after we move, we could work something out if I become your preferred sitter, and I will try my best to help in any way I can. I am going to college for Elementary Education to become an Elementary School Teacher. I am currently finished with my classes and in the process of taking exams, and hoping to begin my student teaching internship in January-April 2026. I will continue to do pet sitting for the foreseeable future; my schedule might just change up a bit. Some fun facts about me: I am a vinyl collector, I love Legos, I'm a gamer, I love to craft and make things, I have 3 dogs of my own, and I love to go shopping!

Reviews

Kiley is a wonderful dog sitter. She was very communicative before the stay, during, and even checked to make sure all was good with the pups after she left. She took great care of my home and my fur babies. Highly recommend booking her for house sitting!
Kiley J. cancelled a booking after the stay began.

Kiley always does a great job looking after our Hazel and leaves our home looking better than she found it! She is flexible and does her best to work us in if need be. She is our go to when we need someone to look after our pup!
Kiley J. cancelled a booking 1 day before it was scheduled to begin.
