I work part-time: on my course and as a gardener. Occasional nights I help out at a nearby pub too, so early mornings after those shifts are less ideal- but I am a morning person, so not impossible :)

I would prefer to care for pets at your own home as my flat is small and I have an old cat who recently moved in with me. Occasionally I will accept dogs at mine but they should ideally be house trained and not (super) reactive to a cat ! The cat goes outside so it’s not the end of the world, but ideally your pet would be able to acclimatise to her presence, not chase her the whole time ! I care for pets by encouraging them to feel safe and warm with me. I never push their boundaries and am slow and patient with greeting them, to see how they react. I offer walking services , on and off lead- depending on what you and the dog best suit. I enjoy playing with dogs that enjoy it and always encourage them to have the toys/belongings that are comforting for them. And to know their favourite treats!

Information Kiki N. would like to know about your pet

I like to know if the owners have any preferences on their command words/actions used for heel, stay, crossing the road etc. This helps me reinforce your own training with your pet. It's helpful to know how the dog reacts to being off the lead in open areas, and equally- I love knowing about their little quirks, if they have any!

A typical day

Depending on the dog and their needs- I often take those that require more exercise around up to the Downs, Hollingbury Woods or Withdean Park. I really enjoy doing treat training with pups that are in the process of learning, and helping solidify whatever you've taught them so far.

Pet care experience

Hello! I’m Kiki - a dog walker/pet sitter based in Hove. I’ve recently returned to Rover, after a few years away whilst completing a 3 year course for my work as a therapist. Very happy to be looking after animals again as I’ve missed it dearly! :) About me- I’m 29, and have a car to travel. I am reliable, responsible and have years of experience caring for animals. Not limited by dog breed, age or size (I've looked after a plethora of pets by now!) I'm a friendly face for your pet to get to know, and my biggest priority is always keeping your pet happy and healthy, whilst you’re away. I've always loved working with animals as I grew up around them, and my mum is a massive animal lover- having had cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, and even toirtoises. Walking around Brighton’s greener areas has been a favourite pastime of mine since moving here, but it’s always improved by a four legged companion- who’s getting some enjoyable exercise! I’m sensitive to the fact each pup has individual needs and understand that older/injured doggies might better suit a shorter or slower walk. I live in a little sized flat on quiet side road off of Western Road, but am more than willing to drive wherever I am needed to help with walking, drop in visits or looking after your pet at your home. I’m fairly flexible on the services I can offer: dog walking, drop in visits and house sitting are the norms- but if there’s anything else you’re wondering about, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Kiki was amazing with our dog, she took really good care of him giving us regular updates with photos which we really appreciated. She walked and fed him and played with him, he seemed very content. Our house was also left in a spotless condition. We would definitely rebook / recommend her!

Absolutely wonderful. Kiki is a confident dog handler and very communicative. Our Akita can take a bit to warm up to new people, but it seemed he was very comfortable with Kiki and snoozed his time away. Would recommend many times over!

Oscar had a great day with Kiki. This was a second sit and Oscar's greeting was like welcoming one of the family - there is nothing more reassuring than that!

Great first sit with Kiki! We had a helpful meet up to introduce Oscar in advance. All went well on the day - we had regular updates so could see all was fine - and returned to a chilled, happy dog. Next sitting already booked 😀
