Hello, I'm Kiera, and I've been training dogs and working with animals for years. Having no limit to my interest, I'm experienced with everything from fish to horses. I'm also fascinated with canine and feline nutrition, and I have a hard time imagining not living and working with animals. Meeting the needs of pets is of the utmost of importance in order to enable their happiness, and I strive to make it easier for others. I've grown up around dogs, cats, and fish, and I've spent plenty of time working in both an animal hospital and barn. I know how difficult it can be to entrust your animals care to others, and I hope to offer comfort to people by giving their pets the same care as I give my own. I take pride in my knowledge of dog body language and behavior, which I utilize to understand them as individuals alongside their motivations. Not only am I well-versed with intricacies like giving medications, but I have met a variety of dogs and learned how to best navigate different personalities and quirks. (And I hope to learn more! No one is ever done learning.) Through my collective work with dogs I gained confidence in my handling abilities, learned how to take a proactive approach to problem-solving, and haven't yet encountered a mess I can't clean up. Additionally, any opportunity to build relationships and learn from new personalities is incredibly valuable to me as a dog trainer, so I look forward to getting to know your critter and what lights them up! I am concerned a stellar review will reduce the availability of Kiera, but I'm leaving it any way! Keira was the perfect solution for our family, first time to leave target with a sitter. She was very attentive, left us thorough notes detailing his greeting and how they interacted. Pictures don't lie and I would definitely hire her again.
Kiera is amazing and very patient with Moonie. I am very thankful for the help that make a huge difference for me and my wife to make our schedule more flexible. Would certainly ask Kiera for help again next time!

Safety, trust & environment
As someone sensitive to my own surroundings, whether in my home or yours there is always plenty of attention to the environment. Most obviously this means that spaces are continuously kept clean and safe. In addition to thorough routines, I'm definitely the "clean-as-I-go" sort and like to leave each place I spend time in a little cleaner when I move on. Things like access to fresh water, comfortable bed/crate, adequate mental stimulation, exercise, and enriching activities are all no brainers. I keep a close eye on the condition of animals in my care and regularly inspect for things like smalls cuts or signs of skin irritation.

A typical day
When staying with me there is no lack of opportunity for fun. I spend plenty of quality time learning about my guests and find it paramount to address the needs of each pup on an individual basis. This includes not only enriching and fulfilling activities such as food and scent games, cooperative and competitive play, and exercise but I also put great emphasis on quality rest and spaces to decompress. Additionally my yard backs up to a beautiful expanse of woods and safely and securely exploring them is a great chance to spend time in nature and build confidence navigating a natural environment. We can work on some fun training as well!
