Your Pup’s Home Away from Home

I’ve been around dogs my entire life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve had experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, energy levels, and routines, and I understand that every dog has their own unique needs and comfort level. I’m also a dog mom myself to Nala, a fun, friendly, energetic Staffordshire Bull Terrier, so I understand firsthand how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the person caring for your pup. Because I have a dog of my own, I’m very mindful about introductions, personalities, and making sure every dog feels safe and comfortable in my home. What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give each dog while they’re with me. I want your pup to feel like part of the family, not just like they’re being “watched.” I do my best to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible while giving them plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles, and a comfortable place to relax. I’m also attentive to behavior and body language, so I make an effort to notice when a dog may be nervous, overstimulated, missing home, or simply needs a little extra reassurance. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your dog is safe, comfortable, loved, and being treated like one of my own.

Kiara is truly the kind of person every pet parent hopes to find! She is caring, trustworthy, attentive, and treats every pet as if they were her own. What makes Kiara so special is the genuine love and patience she has for animals. She goes above and beyond to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their parents are away. I would highly recommend Kiara to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their beloved pet. She is dependable, compassionate, and gives pet parents peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in wonderful hands. Your pets will be in the best care with Kiara!

Schedule

Pet care already fits naturally into my daily routine because I have a dog of my own, Nala, and caring for her is part of our everyday life. I also work remotely, which gives me the flexibility to be home throughout much of the day and provide regular potty breaks, meals, playtime, attention, and plenty of opportunities to relax. Our home has an active but comfortable routine, and I enjoy having dogs around as part of that. Whether your pup prefers playing and staying busy or curling up and relaxing, I’m happy to adjust to their personality and normal schedule as much as possible. I’m also intentional about the bookings I accept and plan around my schedule so I can give each dog the attention and care they deserve. My goal is to make their stay feel like an extension of home while keeping feeding, potty, exercise, and bedtime routines as familiar and consistent as possible.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and comfort are always a priority in my home. I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time, potty breaks, and play without needing to be off-leash in an open area. I also have an extra crate available if your dog is crate-trained or simply feels more comfortable having their own quiet space. Because I have a dog of my own, I’m intentional about introductions and take the time to make sure everyone is comfortable before allowing dogs to freely interact. I closely supervise play, pay attention to body language, and can provide separate spaces when dogs need a break or some downtime. I follow each pet’s normal feeding, potty, exercise, and sleep routines as closely as possible and always follow any special instructions provided by their owner. Meals can be given separately when needed, and food, treats, and personal belongings are kept safely managed to help avoid unnecessary issues between dogs. Dogs in my care are treated like part of the family, while still having the structure and supervision needed to keep everyone safe. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident knowing your pup is comfortable, cared for, and enjoying their stay.

A typical day

A typical day with me includes a good mix of play, exercise, attention, and downtime based on your dog’s personality and energy level. We’ll start the day with a potty break and some outdoor time, followed by breakfast and plenty of attention. Throughout the day, dogs can enjoy playtime in my fenced yard, neighborhood walks, enrichment activities, toys, and lots of cuddles and affection. For dogs who enjoy being social and whose owners are comfortable with it, we also have a neighborhood dog park nearby that can be part of their stay. I always tailor activities to each dog. Some pups love long walks and lots of play, while others are happiest lounging nearby and getting extra snuggles. I also make sure there’s plenty of time to rest and decompress so they don’t become overstimulated. My goal is to keep your dog happy, engaged, and comfortable while making their stay feel fun, familiar, and as close to home as possible.

Before caring for your pup, I’d love to know as much as possible about their normal routine, personality, and any special needs so I can make their stay as comfortable as possible. Please let me know about feeding schedules, medications, allergies, potty routines, sleeping preferences, favorite activities, commands they know, and anything that may make them anxious or uncomfortable. I’d also like to know how your dog typically interacts with other dogs and children, as I have both in my home. For boarding and daycare, I prefer dogs who are friendly, well-socialized, and comfortable in a family environment. Please be upfront about any history of aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, excessive barking, escaping, or other behaviors I should be aware of. These things don’t necessarily mean your pup isn’t a good fit—I simply want to make sure I can provide a safe and positive experience for everyone. If your dog has any medical conditions, mobility limitations, special dietary needs, or requires medication, please let me know ahead of time so we can discuss their care. Most importantly, tell me what makes your pup your pup! Their favorite treats, toys, funny habits, comfort items, and little quirks are all helpful. The more I know about them, the easier it is for me to help them feel right at home.
