I never seen someone love dogs the way that Khrys loves dogs. My name is Mickey and I am her husband. When Khrys and I moved to Ruston in 2024 she kept pushing me about wanting a dog, but I continued to digress. I have had bad experiences when it came to dogs like the responsibility eventually falling on me and I work 12-16 hour days. She constantly asked me for months. One month, a family friend of her mother stated she had a poodle that she wanted to rehome. Bonnie was two years old and came from a home full of dogs and a lack of training. It made me nervous for obvious reasons but she assured me that things would be fine and I eventually gave in. I never seen a dog adjust as fast as Bonnie did. Khrys intentionally trained her everyday- from teaching her how to go up and down the stairs for the first time in her life, getting a bath, learning how to walk without pulling, basic commands and even some challenging ones, being around men, and having the best recall- Bonnie was one of the best dogs I ever encountered and really it was because Khrystauna broke her out of her shell. Unfortunately Bonnie had to be rehomed because Khrystauna had a job in Shreveport (an hour away) at that time and couldn’t bare the fact that she was basically away from home from 6am to 6pm. She felt that it was unfair to Bonnie. I used to pick up Bonnie and bring her to work with me- but I don’t think it did any good for her as she missed Khrys. Khrys rehomed her to an elderly family friend of ours and continues to keep in contact and still takes her on walks and sees her constantly. Shes selfless and I think that’s what all dogs needs. An owner who can consider the dogs being outside of being cute.

For as long as I’ve known Khrystauna, she and her family love dogs. Big, small, shedding, not shedding- she genuinely stops in her tracks for any fur baby passing by. I have a big blackendoodle (a black golden doodle) named Sophia and it’s really all because of Khrystauna. My husband, son, and I moved to Ruston, LA from Kentucky in December of 2024 because Khrystauna’s husband hired my husband to be apart of his coaching staff. I emphasized to Khrystauna that I wanted a dog to fulfill my yard despite my husband being initially against it. At the time, Khrystauna had a poodle named Bonnie and her babysitter rescued and fostered dogs. Khrystauna noticed that Bonnie loved playing with Sophia and eventually learned that Sophia was up for adoption. One day, Khrystauna just randomly brought Sophia home with her to give her baby sitter a break and took brought Sophia over to my house and I instantly fell in love. She helped me convince my husband that the adoption was worth it and almost two years later, we love her silly, energetic, lovey girl. She remains obsessed with Khrystauna when she comes over. She babysits for us while I am out of town and my husband is unable to get to her from being at work. I trust Khrystauna with not only Sophia, but my son as well. She remains the emergency contact for him at school. Overall, Khrystauna is one of the most attentive, reliable, and trustworthy people you can come across.
