Information Kerstin B. would like to know about your pet

Please be honest with anything. If your dog has aggressive tendencies towards strangers in your house, let me know maybe we meet ahead of time, build a rapport. If it stresses your dog when you leave the house for the day, let me know. I can feed your dog its meal as I leave as a distraction or do what you prefer. Let me know what your dog likes, loves, hates, scared of, etc.

A typical day

Wherever the owner specifies. Whether its a walk in the neighborhood (if in safe/low traffic area), or if there is a nearby area we can go. I will always walk the dog on the leash. If your pup prefers to play in your background we can do that. If it's fenced in, I can throw frisbee, ball or whatever your pup enjoys. If the weather is really bad and you prefer them not playing outside in inclement weather, we can quickly go out for potty and then play inside. Tug of war, fetch with a soft animal also are activities that can make pups tired! Most of my bookings are pup sitting in owner's home. Your absence can cause a pup stress but by being in their home (as opposed to alone or in a kennel) can put them at ease. They like the companionship, someone to snuggle and watch tv with.

Pet care experience

I have found that dogs prefer to be in their own envirement when their owner's are away, so most of my jobs are from repeat clients and referrals for in home stays. Your pet stays in their own environment which is less stressful. As requested by you, we go on walks, mini hikes, car rides, sleep in bed with them, just lounge and watch TV, administer special diets or medicines, drop off at another relative, etc. I am flexible. Your house stays safe with someone home, mail and newspapers picked up, etc. One client always has contractors over for their large remodel. I first became a dog sitter for my 2 grandpups, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels a boy and a girl. My daughter may be the most demaning, pickiest, list of rules person in the world. Her dogs are her children and I know yours are too. So please if you feel bad about leaving them, if you have a weird request I will understand. Since I am semi-retired I have more flexibility as well. I have had dogs who needed me to sit on the floor with them while they eat, want to sleep in same bed as me, constantly want to sit on my lap or next to me. I understand the power of treats, their special toys and love! It's stressful when the owners are away, but I am here to fill that void. Rest assured, I can send you updates as needed. Whether it's a daily overview from the visits on email, quick text and/or picture from the visit, quick phone call, just let me know. If you need to meet up prior to engagement we can, If you have a longer term request we can work out a discount as well. Let me know how I can help you out and make this less stressful for you and your loved one!

Kerstin gave our 2 large dogs and 1 cat attention, dinner, and potty breaks. Since this was our first sit for us, she took in all the instructions and did not seem to have any troubles. She also gets kudos for finding our home which is off the beaten path. We would contact her to sit again in the future.

Kerstin had a nice overnight stay with Sadie. The house was immaculate when I returned home, and Sadie was a happy girl. I know she had lots of attention and snuggles! I would definitely use Kerstin again.

I cannot recommend Kerstin enough! When I needed someone last minute to watch my dog and two cats, she didn’t hesitate and even drove an hour and a half for a meet and greet beforehand, which showed me right away how dedicated and professional she is. Kerstin was so warm, personable, and a great communicator throughout the entire stay. When I got home, she had left flowers and a card thanking me for trusting her with my fur children. She truly goes above and beyond and I would recommend her to anyone!

Kerstin was precious. I had never left my pets with anyone other than family so I was incredibly nervous. Kerstin just put us at ease. The pets loved her. She was very respectful of our home and treated the pets with such kindness. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.
