I'm self-employed and work from home when dogs stay with me. (My clients are used to dogs making an appearance during Zoom calls.) I'm a runner so long walks with dogs is just part of the fitness routine. I match my schedule to your dog's feeding and bathroom schedule.

Safety, trust & environment
Every dog that comes here is treated with patience and care. Some arrive nervous, anxious, or unsure—maybe a potty accident in a new space, maybe hesitant to settle. My job is to help them feel safe, give them time to decompress, and meet them where they are. When they're ready, I'm here for play and snuggles. I have a fenced yard and my property backs up to a park. Dogs get regular walks, plus potty breaks. If a dog needs shorter, lower-key outings, we do on-leash trips to the park right behind the house. If your dog is reactive, we do backyard potty breaks and walk off-peak hours on a specific path to minimize potential sightings of other dogs.

Information Kera R. would like to know about your pet
I'm always happy to do a meet and greet so the dogs knows who I am before coming for boarding, and you also get to see whether I'm the kind of person you want spending time with your fur baby :).
A typical day
We'll check out all the smells in my neighborhood and depending on the dog's energy level, see some key sights in the city - the Orioles and Ravens stadiums, Federal Hill park, Inner Harbor, etc. My preference is to not put down a bowl of food for your dog but instead figure out whether they like a snuff mat, food puzzle, kibble mixed with peanut butter or broth and stuffed in a Kong., etc. That may not be an option for every dog but I like to challenge the mind and exercise the body. And then of course there are snuggles and cuddles on the sofa and if it's ok with you, we co-sleep.

Pet care experience
10 years fostering dogs with a local shelter—puppies, medical cases, reactive dogs, seniors, and the shy ones who need extra patience. My favorites are large dogs and blockheads (staffies, rotties, pit mixes), though a small dog sneaks in now and then (frenchies, Havanese, corgi, etc). I'm new to Rover but not to petsitting. I've cared for dogs from families who adopted my fosters for years, and I've been active on Wag! At my house, dogs get on the furniture, play hard, and get spoiled. Belly rubs, butt scratches, and ear massages come standard. My goal is to send your dog home happy, loved and tired.
Reviews

Milo loves staying with Kera, he’s always happy to spend time at her house. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter!

Kera is so fantastic. She took such excellent care of my dog Kernel. The perfect amount of communication and photos. She's such a wonderful sitter and I would highly recommend her.

Kera is a star sitter! She’s a clear communicator, sent just the right amount of updates, and is very capable. I especially appreciated her ability to handle my reactive cattle dog and trust her judgement with handling any special needs. I highly recommend her and will most certainly bring Aries back on my next work trip.

Kera has been a godsend! We’ve left our boy milo with her twice now and she has done an exceptional job. She is very knowledgeable, kind and truly cares for dogs. There is nobody i’d recommend more!
