First and foremost, I always let the animal approach me first. This is important, especially for those more skittish, for building a relationship and making sure the animal is comfortable with me entering their space.

I have two dogs of my own and have previously worked as a dog-walker, so I am comfortable handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments in different environments.
