I've taken care of all kinds of animals as long as I can remember. I've always adored animals and often volunteer at shelters or vet offices in my free-time. I've learned how to administer medication in various ways as well as how to treat minor injuries (such as a torn nail or sprained paw). Trimming claws and nails, cleaning ears, cleaning up enclosures, managing dietary needs, were all things that I've done in my work at animal shelters. No job too gross or menial!! I have experience training service dogs. Specifically service dogs for Veterans with PTSD. The dogs would live with me for the duration and undergo constant training both in the house and in public spaces. This involved clicker training and lots of positive reinforcement. Once they passed their training, they would go on to live with a Veteran, and be their constant companion, someone to watch their back and help them manage their PTSD.
