Currently, we are usually available 24 hours a day for your pet. I work from home as a bookkeeper and as a Realtor, so I’m usually here working from home unless I’m running to show a home. While I’m out, I have my wife and the rest of my family to cover my spot until I return. So, your pet should always have someone here to care for them!

**Please Read Entirely** Please provide written details about your pet's special instructions on feeding, medication, or anything else that is important for their stay, so that they get the attention and care they need. Please Note: Due to insurance purposes, we are not allowed to accept the following types of breeds: Pit bull, American bulldog, and bully. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Our sincere message to everyone, and our policy on overly aggressive behavior in pets for all boarding guests _________________________________________ We know that animals get nervous in new environments, and it takes time for them to adjust. We desire to love and care for each and every pet that stays so that they are as comfortable as possible with us and all the other pets around them. We also want to express how much we appreciate you and everyone who allows us to watch over their pet(s). Since there are a lot of people who trust us with their pets, we want to go above and beyond to keep their trust by specializing in a safe and calm environment for every animal that stays with us, and we want everyone who puts their trust in us to feel secure in their decision. With that, we understand that some dogs like being alone, and we know not every dog will get along, so we can keep your pet separated if that is what you wish. However, we have a 0 tolerance policy on any extreme aggressive behavior from any pet staying on the farm, for example, nipping/biting/attacking humans, or seeking to get to and viciously attack other dogs within the same area, etc. If we observe any of this behavior, we apologize for the inconvenience; however, they will be unable to join us and the rest of the animals on our walking trails, our creek/pond visits, or any play time outside, and will also be permanently banned and unable to return to the farm. If your pet is deemed “out of control,” then we will have no choice but to call Rover and ask for an emergency contact to come and pick up the extremely aggressive pet, and they will not be allowed to complete the rest of their stay. We understand some animals may have a past of neglect or abuse, which can cause them to flip and act differently towards humans or other animals, and we are sorry to hear that; however, it does not mean we can neglect safety and put ourselves or other people’s pets in danger. Thank you all for your attention to this matter, and we look forward to meeting all of you and your wonderful pets!
A typical day
Your pet will have constant stimulation and something to do. We offer daily walks on the trails, water spots for your pet to swim and play in, outside areas for them to enjoy the nice breeze and fresh air, areas for them to all come together and play together, and individual cozy places to sleep and eat in, so they feel safe and secure at any time. All of this on 98 acres of fenced-in land. We want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your getaway!

Hi there, everyone! Please scroll to the bottom and read our policies before booking! But before you go, let us tell you about ourselves! We offer the most unique experience for your pets, allowing them to have their own getaway when you have things come up in life. Whether that is planned vacations or when life likes to kick you down, we are here to offer a boarding experience like no other. My family and I have always owned dogs; I grew up with them and trained them all my life. Our family is also part of a rescue. So what better way to use our land than to also take care of other people's dogs! We are located in the northern part of Alamance County. We offer 98 acres of land with several walking trails next to a flowing creek, a clean and swimmable pond with a shallow area, a gated outside area with separate runners for the cool days with a nice breeze, and an inside area with luxury crates equipped with barn doors and beds inside of them for all of our furry visitors to relax and feel right at home! Here at our farm called The Retreat, we want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your own getaway!

Kenan and Kayleigh were fantastic! I was super nervous to leave my dog as we’re new the area and this would be a new and unfamiliar place for her. She does have separation anxiety at times so I was very overwhelmed. Kenan made me the process so easy and made both her and I feel really comfortable and relaxed! I’ll absolutely be using them again!
Where do I start? When I first saw their profile, it stood out to me. I was not sure if it was going to be a good fit, but the moment we started communicating I immediately felt confident and comfortable because as a first time user the energy and process flowed effortlessly. I wanted to meet in person to make sure that my pup was in sync with them. The moment we arrived, the environment felt so welcoming. My dog got out and automatically seemed intrigued. I watched how she smiled and pranced around their property. I watched how she submitted to them it was all so supernatural. I didn’t wanna leave lol so I knew it would be a perfect fit. The day of drop off and the booking was super easy. She did not give me any pushback. It was like she was happy to be back on their property. She listened to his commands, I knew we found the perfect family home to trust her with. The entire time on vacation to celebrate my daughter‘s birthday I had peace of mind. It was communicated to me how she was doing, but I already knew in my heart She was in great hands. She stayed with them for three days on the fourth day when I returned I remember myself saying dang I need to keep in contact with them because not only did this work perfectly for our needs. It felt like my pup was going on her own vacation and this was exactly what she needed also for her anxiety. I am totally satisfied and grateful that I met this couple and will absolutely make it my duty to keep in contact. 1,000% Satisfied & Highly Appreciated and Recommended. Sam always enjoys his visit with Kenan and Kayleigh. We were nervous that our new dog Bo would be too scared, but Kenan kindly took time to settle his nerves and made sure to give us updates while we were traveling.
My dog Bella stayed for around 8 days and I couldn’t have trusted someone else more. Kenan was always ready to send me pictures and videos to not make me worry. It was our first time with them and we will definitely be reaching out again whenever we need. Bella got to play with other dogs and make many friends. I definitely recommend them!
