I have experience caring for dogs of many different breeds and sizes. No crate unless you are strict on your dog sleeping in a crate. If so, will need to bring your dog’s own crate. Fully fenced & gated dog park on the property. I am also available for pick up & drop off services within the Walnut Creek Area.

The only bad experience we have ever had with a Rover and only did not rate him as a 1 b/c in the end our dog was healthy and safe. That said, Ken is not a good Rover. In eight days, we received just six photos and had to remind him to send updates. That might be because he was boarding and watching multiple dogs – which was not expected. Especially when I dropped off our dog to find five dogs in his studio apartment – two of which were kept in crates. His apartment is barely large enough for his dog and one boarded dog. Then when we picked him up, it turns out that Ken ruined our dog’s bed – or more likely one of the other dogs ruined it. He purchased a replacement which was neither the kind nor color we had so I asked for a refund of the same amount, but he refused. He is not trustworthy and his lack of communication during our vacation made for some serious concerns. I would never use or recommend him.
Used during Christmas- New years to travel to funeral, BAD experience. Sitter did not have any dog boarding materials of his own & came off very inexperienced. He claimed dog would not stop peeing or barking however dog does not bark and is house trained. He cancelled booking mid boarding while I was attending my grandmothers funeral. When dog was picked up by emergency contact, dog was fine. Sitter owns a dog who likes to nip/bite when playing that resides in his home, I think this may have been a factor if my dog was truly uncomfortable. However emergency contact said upon arrival, sitter just appeared eager to get rid of dog & end boarding in order to go do something else during the holidays. We have never had issues using sitters and have never had behavior issues. This was a super inconvenience.

Ken was responsive when my bf and I were looking for a last minute sitter. We went through the meet and greet and Ollie enjoyed being around Ken (actively looking for pets, tail wagging), and did not show any sign of negative personality changes when we picked him up. This was our first time leaving Ollie with someone outside of family so I made sure to keep his rover profile as detailed as possible so Ollie would receive the exact same care as he did at home. Ollie is young and full of energy and I would have loved to receive more videos/photos of Ollie on walks throughout the neighborhood, Ollie playing with Ken’s dog (Jabba), just anything to ensure us he was getting exercise and being social. I appreciate the photos and videos Ken did send over of Ollie, but wish we had videos/photos showing he was getting the exercise we give him everyday. As his pawrents, my bf and I know Ollie tends to not drink a lot of water unless he goes outside and gets to play for 30 mins - 1 hour. Ken texted me on the first evening and let me know he noticed Ollie’s water intake was low. I appreciate him alerting us about this. Overall, we appreciate Ken for being so quick to respond and caring for Ollie while we were away.
Halfway during our 8 night boarding Ken messages that our dog had 4 peepee accidents/markings in his apartment or elevator and sent me a shocking rate increase thru the app. After not paying immediately, he then sent yet another even higher rate increase request with a “wish I didn’t have to do this” message the next morning ($350 extra fee about) and to “let him know if we wanted to continue boarding”. We called Rover immediately and the company rep read thru the messages surprised at Ken’s messages and said his rate increase was not allowable and he could not force any extra charge for the remainder of the stay and that all dog boarders are expected to know that peepee accidents will happen anytime without a fee. We were over 2000 miles away and scared to death that he would leave him out on the street with his last messages. Thank God my neighbor was able to immediately go pick him up. We booked an early flight back today because of the situation ($1500 extra flight cost). I am so grateful my dog is ok and unharmed. I’m very upset both with Ken and this Rover app for allowing him to put us in this situation (why did the app allow him to attempt the rate change for an unallowable reason?). Ken did apologize to me on the phone “for this situation” just before my neighbor picked up my dog , but he didn’t offer to fix the problem. If he was truly sorry- he should have told me he would leave rate as is, apologize for attempting to charge extra, and assure me that my dog was in good hands for the remainder of the trip. But he did not do this.
Ken was an excellent dog sitter. Easy location to find. Very communicative and worked with us on a last minute booking. Thanks Ken.

Schedule
I work from home which allows me to spend quality time with each of the dogs I care for. This quality time allows the to understand the dogs temperament and personality, creating a peaceful and safe environment for them.

Woof! One sunny day, Ken became my temporary human. We dashed to the dog park, where I sprinted like a furry rocket and made pals. Ken tossed a squeaky ball, and I became a four-legged superhero, chasing it through the green kingdom. After a wild romp, we explored a magic trail in the urban woods of downtown Walnut Creek. I sniffed secrets, marked my territory on a majestic tree, and felt like a real city slicker. Then came the café, where a bone-shaped treat vanished in seconds. Ken sipped something warm, and people cooed over my fluffiness. As the sun dipped, we headed home. Ken and I shared tales with my owner Sarah about our epic day, and I curled up, replaying the adventure in my doggy dreams. I left with a promise to return, leaving me with a tired but content heart and wagging tales to tell.
