I currently work from home and have flexibility in my schedule, which allows me to devote focused time and attention to each pet I care for. After recently losing my senior dog, I’ve been looking to channel that extra time, love, and care toward helping other families and their pets.

Safety, trust & environment

After working in a veterinary office for nearly 3 years and at a doggy daycare for 2.5 years, I’ve developed a strong foundation in animal care, behavior, and safety. My experience also includes caring for cats and understanding their unique behaviors and needs. I’m comfortable handling cats of all temperaments and always approach them with patience and respect. From my time in the vet setting, I’m experienced in administering oral and injectable medications, giving subcutaneous fluids, and recognizing early signs of stress or illness. Whether it’s a shy cat who needs gentle reassurance or a playful one who thrives on enrichment and engagement, I tailor my care to their comfort level. I respect and appreciate every animal as an individual, and I prioritize their comfort and well-being from the very first meeting. I like to start with a thoughtful meet and greet to establish trust, followed by maintaining their familiar routines and ensuring consistent, attentive care throughout my time with them. My goal is for your pet to feel safe and relaxed while you’re away—and for you to have total peace of mind knowing they’re in loving, capable hands.

Information Kelsey W. would like to know about your pet

I always begin with a meet and greet before accepting any booking. This helps me understand your pet’s personality and ensure we’re a good fit. During that time, I’ll ask about their daily schedule, feeding and medication routines, allergies, triggers or reactivity concerns, and vet information in case of an emergency. I also like to know if your pet is allowed at dog parks or prefers quieter outings. The more I know, the better I can make their experience safe, stress-free, and enjoyable.

A typical day

Since I don’t host pets in my home, I focus on keeping their care consistent with what they’re used to. I’ll follow your routines closely—mealtimes, walks, playtime, and rest. Consistency is key, but so is fun! Weather permitting, I enjoy getting them outside for walks or backyard time. For dogs who prefer staying home, I’ll bring the fun indoors with enrichment toys and gentle play to keep them engaged both mentally and physically. I’m mindful that not every dog enjoys dog parks or being around others, so I always tailor activities to their comfort level and personality. For cats, I make sure they get both the calm presence and interactive play they need—whether that’s quiet companionship or active time with their favorite toys.

Pet care experience

Since my undergraduate years, I’ve built a strong foundation in animal care and veterinary medicine, spending over 5 years working hands-on with pets in both clinic and daycare settings around Milwaukee. I now work in the laboratory science field and am based back in the greater Milwaukee area, continuing to support pets and their families through Rover. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages and personalities—including those needing medications, injections, subcutaneous fluids, or extra help with mobility or anxiety. After recently losing my senior dog, I know firsthand what it’s like to support a pet through mobility and cognitive decline, and I bring that same patience and compassion to every animal I care for. I focus on providing dependable, thoughtful care that aligns with each pet’s normal routine. I’m flexible, communicative, and always aim to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved—while keeping you informed along the way.

I had a last minute cancellation frim a friend that was supposed to take care of my dog when I was going on vacation. I found Kelsey on Rover. We set up a meet and greet quickly. She came over and met my dog Bailey. We agreed they were a good fit. She took excellent care of him . She went above and beyond sending me pictures and videos of Bailey. This was the first time I had left him. She made sure I was comfortable. Highly recommend!

Kelsey did a great job watching our two dogs and cat. She kept us well-informed and provided updates and photos for our peace of mind. She went above and beyond by doing things we didn't ask, like cleaning out the extra litter box and offering to take out the trash. We would definitely use her as a sitter again.
