Safety, trust & environment

I am equipped to manage all varieties of dogs from the easiest house guest to dog aggressive cases or complicated medical needs. I tailor my services to each individual dog to give them the best possible care and allow their people to have some freedom and know their dog is well cared for. I make sure to chat with owners and let them know what variety of boarding I offer is most suitable for their dog. I am able to make multiple daily trips to feed, potty and play with client dogs in their homes. My times are very flexible and have often done combo stays- where your dog stays the night with me and I drive it to your home during the day and pick up again in the evening. This works well for senior dogs or puppies who need monitoring over night.

Information Kelsey W. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences here! No restrictions, either! The only rules are: they must also be safe around children. My kids accompany me on some visits and walks- and are always safe around dogs and I limit all contact. And for in our home boarding, your dog must be house trained and crate trained. While I am here 95% of the time with them, I do have kids and have to buy groceries and run basic errands. During these times we prefer all dogs to be crated for their personal safety. If your dog is not crate trained they will use a 5 x 5 kennel in our garage and a 5 x 10 kennel in our yard.

A typical day

When boarding in our home, they will get to live like they do in their own house. Hanging out, lounging around and playing in our yard. We always monitor dogs outside for safety reasons. Dogs that have aggression issues or require more separation for their own peace are offered safe kenneled situations both indoor and out. Dogs will be crated overnight for their safety. If they are not crate trained, they will use a 5 x 5 kennel in our garage overnight.

Pet care experience

*We do not accept bookings that give less than 48 hour notice from the start date. Sorry!* I am a professional dog trainer and breeder of Australian Shepherds. My family and I have moved all over the US and are now back in Washington! I used to run a fully operational boarding facility and board and train program in Island County and have decided to start out slow now that we're settled back in our home state. I have 20 years of experience training dogs- 15 of those years being a paid, licensed and insured professional. I take the utmost care of any animal in my charge. I treat them like family and honor all the requests made by owners to ensure their pet is treated perfectly when they are gone! I understand the love and care people have for their animals and do everything I can to show that same level of care when they are under my watch. I take videos and photos regularly to keep families updated, as well!

Kelsey took great care of Barley while we were away. She kept us updated with messages, and we always felt like he was in good hands. Barley is still a young puppy and definitely a work in progress. Kelsey was honest with us about the training challenges she noticed, which we appreciated. Her feedback was thoughtful and helpful, and it’s clear she cares about the dogs she looks after.

So happy we found Kelsey on rover! We had peace of mind leaving poppy while we enjoyed a whale tour! Kelsey was flexible and kind and we could tell poppy was comfortable and had a great time!
